THE rise of the 'Bigeni boys' reached another level in Bathurst on Wednesday night.
Consisting of Simon and his three sons Jake, 23, Klayton, 20, and Mason, 16, the Bigenis have been prominent figures during the past couple months.
Enjoying his best season as a trainer, Simon has cut a regular path to the winners' circle, including a recent double at Club Menangle.
Last month Mason registered his initial victory as a reinsman, while a few weeks ago the brothers were successful on the same card for the first time.
As for the clan's latest moment in the spotlight, Simon and Jake recorded their biggest triumph thanks to Warrawee Way Back capturing the $50,000 Nutrien Gold Crown Graduate Sale Final.
"The last couple of months have been pretty good for us," Simon said. "We've all had winners and are enjoying the ride.
"To get a big win last night is something special and hopefully a stepping stone for things to come."
Beginning from the inside of the second row, Warrawee Way Back was caught three-back along the pegs as Highview Bonnie worked to the lead from barrier three.
Brilliantly weaved through traffic leaving the back straight, Warrawee Way Back sprinted to a five-metre win from Reason To Be Happy, with Flincent a head away third.
Rating 1:56.5 over 1730 metres, the two-year-old took his record to three wins from five starts for owner Timothy McCracken.
"We are absolutely thrilled with him," Simon said. "He has come a long way in a short time and gives the sense he will keep improving.
"After winning a heat last week we gave him a big chance, it was just a matter of getting an even crack from the draw.
"Jake drove him perfectly and the horse responded once in the clear."
To be given "about three weeks off", Warrawee Way Back will then be aimed at the Breeders' Challenge Blue series in November.
