FRESH from dominating last weekend’s Club Menangle program, triple Inter Dominion-winning trainer Jason Grimson is poised for another big night on Saturday.
Just to recap, Grimson prepared four winners on the nine-race card, including I Got Chills, which captured the feature event - August Gift Final.
With Grimson holding the reins, I Got Chills secured the Listed Classic in a slick 1:50.2, slashing a second-and-a-half from his best time.
Grimson also partnered Bettorlightem Up and Captains Knock, while Cooper Griffiths was in the sulky behind Bluto.
Covering the mile in 1:50.1, Bluto provided the young reinsman with his maiden metropolitan victory.
Fast forward to this evening and Grimson has nine members of his stable in action, including Hes A Dancer and Oh Its On in the main event - Rod and Fran Fitzpatrick Tatlow Stake.
Triumphant upon debut at Albion Park on June 30, Hes A Dancer was then unplaced in The Protostar Slot Race at the same venue a fortnight later.
Given a short freshen-up, the son of A Rocknroll Dance is a $2.50 TAB Fixed Odds favourite to complete a successful return in the time-honoured feature.
Grimson is set to drive the two-year-old from barrier three.
Considered the main danger at $3, Oh Its On will begin from gate eight with Cameron Hart in the cart.
Oh Its On scored at Albion Park on August 4 when first-up from a spell before an unplaced effort the following week.
Like Hes A Dancer, the son of Bling It On has also been kept fresh since returning from Queensland.
Boasting two wins and a fourth from three starts, Blissful Lover is rated as the biggest threat to Grimson's pair.
Drawn to settle in a prominent position from the pole, Blissful Lover's wins include a 1:53.3 effort at Club Menangle.
The Mat Rue-trained gelding is listed at $5.50 with TAB Fixed Odds.
Earlier in the meeting Our Rocker is expected to bounce back to the winners' circle following a below par effort last week when the son of Rock N Roll Heaven led from the pole before fading to sixth.
One of two Grimson-trained entrants in the opening race, Our Rocker won his two previous starts at Club Menangle in impressive fashion.
This time around Our Rocker will begin from barrier six with Hart to take the reins.
Grimson will drive Catchafire from the pole, with the four-year-old first-up since April 11.
Catchafire has had two trials in recent weeks, including a third at Club Menangle on August 19.
Although drawn wide in gate eight, No Notthebuttons is regarded as a major threat for trainer-driver Seaton Grima.
Impressing since being transferred to Grima, No Notthebuttons has won four of his seven starts, with a second also in the mix.
Grima will also be represented by Captain Bart, which will come from barrier two with Joshua Gallagher steering the son of Captaintreacherous.
