Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) is proud to announce that $43,800 was raised across the state during the 2026 Team Teal campaign.

The funds will support vital ovarian and gynaecological cancer research and education programs through the Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG).

This year marked a significant milestone, with HRNSW celebrating its 10th year of participation in the Australasia-wide initiative, which sees female drivers wear teal during the six-week campaign.

Over the past decade, NSW participants have helped raise more than half a million dollars for the cause.

Continuing to grow year-on-year, this campaign HRNSW again pledged $200 for every race won by a female driver or trainer in the state, with an additional $200 for each victory achieved by a Team Teal ambassador — further boosting the fundraising effort.

Across this campaign, NSW recorded 82 driving wins and 58 training wins by female participants.

Club Menangle contributed $3000 to this and a further $2000 was raised by the Newcastle Harness Racing Club.

HRNSW Chief Executive Officer Peter Buckman praised the efforts of all involved.

“We are incredibly proud of the contribution made by our drivers, trainers and the wider harness racing community,” Mr Buckman said.

“Raising $43,800 in our 10th year of involvement is a fantastic achievement and highlights the ongoing commitment of our industry to supporting vital research and raising awareness for ovarian cancer.

“Team Teal has become a meaningful part of our racing calendar, and the passion shown by our participants in representing this cause is truly inspiring.”

Special recognition also goes to the 2026 Team Teal ambassadors, who wore the distinctive silks with pride and raise further awareness throughout the campaign: KerryAnn Morris, Ashleigh Delosa, Jemma Coney, Chloe Formosa, Taylah Osmond, Ellen Jones, Amanda Turnbull and Olivia Frisby.

HRNSW extends its sincere thanks to all drivers, trainers, clubs, sponsors and supporters who contributed to the success of the 2026 campaign.
