Race 1:

OVERVIEW: TELERN LOFTY (10) has been excellent in two runs back from a spell, a winner here, and was too far back and wide when beaten as a short-priced favourite at Charlton. Whilst he gets no map favours, he’s a progressive type who can storm home with the right tempo.
INSIDE LEG (5) was a good winner last time at Echuca when able to lead, and whilst the map is not certain the merit of that win carries him a long way. SPIRIT OF SAHARA (2) will appreciate this draw to map favourably and was good in similar grade last time. SPECTA (4) needs to be kept safe as he hasn’t had much luck, and he can be more positive from this draw.

BACK: TELERN LOFTY (10) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: TELERN LOFTY (10), INSIDE LEG (5), SPIRIT OF SAHARA (2), SPECTA (4)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: DOUGS TRIBE (4) has had a stable change, but he’s a horse who’s often shown promise. He was stood down to trial after his last failure and was good there; he can press forward and show what he’s capable of.
OUR MYSTERY BET (2) goes to the front line and the soft map suits, having been more consistent this prep from similar set-ups. CLIVES GIRL (3) can show speed and map better than last time from this draw and be an improver. EAGLE MAJOR (6) is a tough type who has been going well and is never far off them.

BACK: DOUGS TRIBE (4) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: DOUGS TRIBE (4), OUR MYSTERY BET (2), CLIVES GIRL (3), EAGLE MAJOR (6)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: MISTER HENDRIX (8) is having his first start as a 3yo with no trial, but last campaign there was enough market confidence to suggest there’s ability there. He draws softly in an even race and with any luck he’ll be flashing late.
MAURLEN GRACE (11) started favourite and got it wrong last week, but there’s been potential at the trials and her maiden start. THE FINAL DANCE (4) stays under notice with some sound trials and raced against the top 2yos last campaign. MISS DOOBEE (9) has been kept safe in betting in three runs and has a soft trailing draw to improve.

SELECTIONS: MISTER HENDRIX (8), MAURLEN GRACE (11), THE FINAL DANCE (4), MISS DOOBEE (9)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: WICKED WIZARD (6) has been good in his three runs back from a break and goes back to the front row to race positively. He was a good winner at Wagga when able to lead two back and if he can have luck with the map will be very hard to beat.
HELLOVATIME (5) is also a quick beginner and was good last time for the new stable when racing tough. SPARTAN SHIELD (4) gives away experience here but has shown ability to date and will race forward. ELIZAJANE (2) can improve back to the front row and has raced well in the past when able to race forward.

BACK: WICKED WIZARD (6) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: WICKED WIZARD (6), HELLOVATIME (5), SPARTAN SHIELD (4), ELIZAJANE (2)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: JILLIBY TOPGUN (2) has shown development this campaign, improving his manners and draws softly here to map well. He doesn’t win out of turn, but this presents as a winnable option.
STARLIGHT RED (1) if nothing else, is a quick beginner and reliably gaited, which can carry him a long way from the draw over the short trip. SAMMY HALLER (8) was running on okay when clear late last week and is a winner at this track. CRESCO CASHFLOW (3) failed last time but her form prior was quite good and is worth another chance.

SELECTIONS: JILLIBY TOPGUN (2), STARLIGHT RED (1), SAMMY HALLER (8), CRESCO CASHFLOW (3)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: LORD VERDE (6) has been very consistent this season and that form is aided by his good gate speed from front row draws. He can afford to be driven positively here again and prove hard to beat with the right run.
OLLIES MEDAL (5) has often shown ability, but at times his manners have let him down, but with Nick Beale having experienced him is an advantage. DIRECT COMMAND (7) got it wrong from the inside draw last time but was a good winner prior and can be finishing well late with the right tempo. ANIMADO (3) does like this track and Lauren White has won on him previously.

BACK: LORD VERDE (6) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: LORD VERDE (6), OLLIES MEDAL (5), DIRECT COMMAND (7), ANIMADO (3)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: FARSTAR (6) is a 13-start maiden but won’t strike a more winnable assignment than he strikes here. He’s not been far away in better company and can be driven forward to get into the right position.
BET BET HOTSHOT (2) put in a disappointing run last week but prior to that was going well so is worth another chance. WAR DAN PHOENIX (7) wasn’t too far away in a recent trial, albeit in slow time, but earns stable respect. TAKEN BY WINE (3) has had plenty of chances but is aided by being a quick beginner.

BACK: FARSTAR (6) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: FARSTAR (6), BET BET HOTSHOT (2), WAR DAN PHOENIX (7), TAKEN BY WINE (3)
