Echuca – Tuesday, 10 March 2026

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: THE LADYBIRD (1) gets her best draw in some time to use her gate speed here over the short trip and attempt to hold the horse drawn alongside and lead. Her runs have been quite good lately and this looks her best chance to return to the winners list.

BETTORSWEETVICTORY (7) draws her back and will be dictated by the map. She was able to lead last time as a well-supported favourite and seemed to have her chance there. TEX GOES BANG (8) won that race when sitting parked and was a forgive run last time from a bad draw. ENABLE ME (5) has found some decent form for the new stable but the draw is a little tricky.

BACK: THE LADYBIRD (1) – 1 unit (win)

SELECTIONS: THE LADYBIRD (1), BETTORSWEETVICTORY (7), TEX GOES BANG (8), ENABLE ME (5)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: MYNAMEISRUBY (9) perhaps strikes the most winnable race she’s found in her long career here, with the form vastly inferior to what she’s capable of. Granted, she faces a tough draw over the short trip, but she can still overpower them with a slow time expected.

PARK RUN (8) is first up since last June with no trial, but showed reasonable form against better company last prep. VERY TEMPTING (7) gets a soft draw on the pegs which helps his place chances. DOT BALL (2) needs to improve but may find this easier than recent outings.

BACK: MYNAMEISRUBY (9) – 5 units (win)

SELECTIONS: MYNAMEISRUBY (9), PARK RUN (8), VERY TEMPTING (7), DOT BALL (2)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: ATTRACTED (9) has been very good in two runs from new trainer Craig Turnbull including a win last week where she was able to lead. This presents as another challenge from the back row around the tighter Echuca track, but her form is superior.

PIESRIDINGSHOTGUN (5) may have a crack for the lead despite the sticky draw which could aid his chances but needs a cheap quarter. MONTANA MUSCLE (2) gets Herbertson which is a massive plus and can improve on recent placings. SUZYS DREAM (3) has been OK of late without threatening to win and has claims with the right run.

SELECTIONS: ATTRACTED (9), PIESRIDINGSHOTGUN (5), MONTANA MUSCLE (2), SUZYS DREAM (3)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: MY GREAT EIGHT (8) goes on top in what looks like a race impossible to be confident about. He has changed stables, gets a good driver and has a trailing draw to come with one run.

STELLAR QUEEN (5) doesn’t have a good winning strike rate but has placed at this track and hasn’t been too far away of late. BLUE OCEAN (7) has a soft pegs draw and was a placegetter last time which gives him claims. THE ACCIDENTAL ONE (2) has early gate speed which may help him turn around his recent poor form in an easier race.

SELECTIONS: MY GREAT EIGHT (8), STELLAR QUEEN (5), BLUE OCEAN (7), THE ACCIDENTAL ONE (2)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: INSIDE LEG (4) is open to sharp improvement here back to a more suitable race and a front row draw to be map positive. His last win was from a similar draw beating a better credentialled field than he meets here.

MAJOR BYE (7) has been racing well from better draws, but this is a class drop and Herbertson gets on well with him. LOCHIEL LAD (1) is a jet off the arm and will lead these easily which helps at this track but does need to improve. MAYWYNS JEWEL (5) is first up with no trial but did race well last prep to warrant consideration.

BACK: INSIDE LEG (4) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: INSIDE LEG (4), MAJOR BYE (7), LOCHIEL LAD (1), MAYWYNS JEWEL (5)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: CARUSO STAR (7) will need a lot of luck in a race where it’s hard to be confident about the map and tempo, but he’s going well. He can conserve on the peg line and if the breaks come at the right time will flash late.

TUPELO BEACH (6) worked home well last start in a solid last half, although he has a tricky draw to overcome and will most likely go back at the start. FINAL BOW (2) will surely garner market respect and although she has a decent record at this track her last few have been a little plain. CLIVES GIRL (1) has been mixing her race pattern but may be obliged to use the inside draw and could improve.

SELECTIONS: CARUSO STAR (7), TUPELO BEACH (6), FINAL BOW (2), CLIVES GIRL (1)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: SOHO PLAYGIRL (3) bounced back to her best form last week where she burned from the outside gate and was unable to lead but still had the guts to finish off the race in good time. She can cross from this draw and over the short trip will be hard to run down.

EYE SEE PHILTRA (1) could catch some nice cover from this draw and has been going fairly in similar set-ups. FEEL THE REIGN (6) is a veteran in a purple patch of form lately, he just has a tricky draw to overcome. CHOGI (4) is an honest mare who’s been racing well this season and won’t be too far off them.

BACK: SOHO PLAYGIRL (3) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: SOHO PLAYGIRL (3), EYE SEE PHILTRA (1), FEEL THE REIGN (6), CHOGI (4)
