Three-year-old colt Medina kept his unbeaten record intact when claiming his fourth win in the Woodlands Stud – Your Genetic Edge Pace (1609m) in Hobart on Friday night.

The Sweet Lou colt was sent out as the $1.22 favourite. There was significant concern for those who took the short odds with the colt galloping in the early parts of the score, with stewards reporting that driver Dylan Ford informed them that the colt appeared to resent the lugging pole on the near side that he was wearing for the first time, before filling his spot just before the release point.

The Freddy Taiba pacer found the lead and dictated affairs before kicking clear near the 500m and was about 12m clear turning for home, with Sharmey ($10) cutting that down to 6.3m late in 1:59.1s.

Another three-year-old, Maninky Moonshine ($2.50 fav) won his third race of the season, when scoring in a 45 to 49 rating event over 2200m.

Trainer-driver Rodney Ashwood took the gelded son of The Storm Inside straight to the early lead and was untroubled to win by 12m.

It was a good night for favourite punters, with six-year-old Bling It On mare Strawberry Bling ($3.60 fav) recording a short half-head win in the opening race for driver Jack Watson and trainer Juanita McKenzie, while Jacob Duggan won aboard the Bianca Heenan-trained Yuruga Lass ($2.05 fav) in race four.

Leading trainer Wayne Yole took training honours at the meeting, with Angelshavetime ($13) scoring by a short-half head, and Rocks Roy ($3.10 fav) being his winners.
