Fresh off driving a winner at the Hobart programs last Sunday and Tuesday, junior driver Kayleb Williams will continue his path to his 100th career winner in Launceston on Sunday night.
Williams, who won at his first race drive on King Island in December 2020, has gone on to win 98 races.
Of his five drives on Sunday’s program, he rates his two drives from the Conor Crook stable as his best chances.
Six-year-old gelding Power Up will be chasing his third win of the season, and his first in Tasmania, when he lines up in the Book Your Christmas Party With Us For 29 November Pace (2200m).
The former New South Wales pacer finished fourth at his most recent outing in Launceston when defeated four meters by Racketeers Boy in 1:56.7s.
“It is a sticky little draw, but the horse has been going really well.
“With my claim, he comes back a grade, and if the luck goes our way, he should be thereabouts,” Williams said about the gelding’s prospect.
Another of Williams’ chances on the card includes Just Miki in the Find Us On Facebook Pace (1680m).
The daughter of Art Major goes into the race third up from a break.
“He’s going well without luck.
“He has a handy draw over the mile, and hopefully he can settle handy enough, and he shouldn’t be too far away,” said the driver about the six-year-old mare who has recorded three career wins.
Sunday’s nine-race card is scheduled to commence at 17:16.
