It’s another big weekend of Tasmanian harness racing with the second running of The Dynamo sprint series on Friday night, followed by a nine-event card in Launceston on Sunday afternoon.
Read the weekly thoughts of Mark Yole, who will be busy with drives on both programs.
Hobart 15 November
Race 1 – My Ultimate Jacko: Racing consistently, and I think he will enjoy the short trip. Driven with a sit he should be right in the finish.
Race 2 – Remember Me Now: I thought he was back to somewhere close to his best last week. Should relish the short trip. He will be looking to lead and be hard to beat.
Race 3 – Botany Bay Warrior: Racing below his best of late.
Race 4 – Oneofthelads: Couldn’t make ground last start. It’s drawn wide here, but it is a sneaky hope with a little luck.
Race 5 – Major Lester: It was a terrific run last week to just miss out on first prize. He’s absolutely flying at present. I’ll drive him similarly, and he will be right in this race.
Race 6 – Mach Angelo: Tough run last week and battled on well for third. This looks much harder, but he could run a sneaky race.
Race 7 – No Nukes Skipper: Flying at the moment. The draw is tricky, but he is the horse to beat in this field.
Race 8 – Messerati: Racing much better at his past few runs. This race is quite strong but if they go hard up front he will be finishing off strongly.
Race 9 – Arden Roanoke: Another who is racing very well at present. He should love the distance, and this looks like a big drop in class. He’ll go close.
Launceston 17 November
Race 1 – Iden Regal Wave: Another horrid draw for this guy, he just can’t seem to get any joy in that regard. He’s still learning his craft, but I’d hope he could be in the finish here.
Race 2 – Whatta Good Reason: Good winner two starts ago and comes up with a good trailing draw. Likely to sit behind the leader and if gets a split is an each way hope.
Race 3 – Park Lane: Been doing a bit wrong at his first two runs in the state; if we can iron them out, then he should be running a much better race from this draw.
Race 4 – Kerala Star: Tough draw here in a hot race. We’ll need some luck.
Race 6 – Feelinkindalucky: Was ok at Burnie first up from a spell. Gets a good draw and hopefully will run ok, however this is a red-hot race for the three-year-olds.
Race 7 – Keayang Fitzy: Threw away any chance at the start last time out. Back to the mobile here and should be right in the mix.
Race 8 – Andaman Bay: First up from a nice spell. Showed great promise last year before a mishap at St Mary’s. Has taken time to recover. Trialled a few times but will need the run and has a horror draw to contend with.
Race 9 – Cinocal Jamane: Going well since a break. The draw is a little tricky, but it should be finishing off well with a bit of luck.
