Race 1:

OVERVIEW: KING KASEY (3) is a fast beginner and has been recording fast times at his recent victories so he will take catching if he can find the lead. JOE GOT ROLLED (1) is rising in class on his past two runner up performances but he is a speedy type and is likely to gain the perfect trip behind the leader so he must be respected. WOTDIDUSAAAY (9) races best when he is able to lead so being drawn on the second line is a disadvantage but he is racing too well to dismiss. He recorded victories at Echuca and Cranbourne, missed out at Melton then performed nicely at a Melton trial third since. The interesting runner is the former New Zealand pacer AMALFI (11) for trainer Carson Millar. He is poorly drawn but his form across the Tasman is strong enough to suggest he can be competitive and he was placed in two Melton trials back in September. OCEAN AVENUE (7) produced a career best performance when second in a strong race at Melton last outing and is not without a chance in a quality field.

SELECTIONS: KING KASEY (3), JOE GOT ROLLED (1), WOTDIDUSAAAY (9), AMALFI (11)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: BRAVE ART (9) began quickly to lead and was taken on early with the first quarter being a sensational 26.5 seconds so her effort to finish third at Ballarat last outing was very brave. She appears to be well graded in this event and should prove very hard to beat. TUKURUA (3) is resuming since March but she was competing against much stronger opposition when she was last in work. She is nicely drawn first up and should run a good race. TORQUE INTHEUSA (7) was confidently supported and ran a cheeky race after working to the front when second at Hamilton last week. He is not as well drawn for this assignment but is worth thought again. PRETTY BASIC (8) was resuming since a Hamilton victory in April when fifth behind My Atlantis last week. He should be fitter from that performance and is worth following.

BACK: BRAVE ART (9) – 3 units (win)

SELECTIONS: BRAVE ART (9), TUKURUA (3), TORQUE INTHEUSA (7), PRETTY BASIC (8)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: MYDEEPESTDESIRE (6) is a strong type, which has been placed in four of her five starts to date and deserves to break through for a win. She raced without cover throughout when third behind Pet Wolf in a slick mile rate of 1.54.9 at Melton two starts ago, which is a good form pointer for this event. BANGBANG BOBBIE (7) is backing up quickly from his effort at St Arnaud on Sunday but his form is good enough to be competitive here. He finished second behind the smart juvenile pacer Lambro Louella at Mount Gambier on October 30. SUBATOMIC (2) ran into a distant second behind Witha Bitta Luck at Mount Gambier when on debut and is worth a place ticket from her good draw. JOKIC (5) is resuming since a debut fifth a Bendigo in May. He has performed fairly well at the trials with a win and a third at Maryborough to his credit and he is worth thought in multiple combinations.

BACK: MYDEEPESTDESIRE (6) – 3 units (win)

SELECTIONS: MYDEEPESTDESIRE (6), BANGBANG BOBBIE (7), SUBATOMIC (2), JOKIC (5)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: ANOTHER WOODS (8) is resuming since an unplaced effort at Geelong in June but will be fitter for a recent unplaced Terang trial performance. He ran some big races against handy grade during his last preparation and recorded a mile rate of 1.55.5 at his last victory so he should be competitive if he is somewhere near his peak. FIVE CENT (6) raced without cover throughout when a creditable third behind Assigned two starts ago. He is a strong staying type and is worth thought under these conditions. BOBBYS ROOM (2) was held up for a run at a vital stage when a handy third behind Huxham Chubb last outing. He should be ready to strike his peak form after having two starts back from a break and is drawn to go well. A ROCKNROLL JET (1) battled on nicely after racing without cover throughout when fifth at Charlton last outing. He is much better drawn for this assignment and is capable of improving on his numerical form.

SELECTIONS: ANOTHER WOODS (8), FIVE CENT (6), BOBBYS ROOM (2), A ROCKNROLL JET (1)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: BUBBLE OVER (2) was resuming since May when she finished off nicely for third in fast final sectionals behind Colosimo at Terang. She should be better after that performance and is drawn to go close. MY FATAL CHARM (1) is a former Tasmanian pacer, which joins trainer Carson Millar. She is ideally drawn and was placed behind the handy pacer Our Ultimate Gracy two starts ago so she must be kept safe. MAJOR ROY (3) is a tough campaigner, which should make his presence felt. He trailed the leader and chased hard when a close second behind Billys Tiger Khan at Ballarat two starts ago. DARETODANCE (6) and MISSMALACHITE (7) are both racing well enough to figure in the finish despite being drawn widely.

SELECTIONS: BUBBLE OVER (2), MY FATAL CHARM (1), MAJOR ROY (3), MISSMALACHITE (7)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: CHILLHUNNYBUNNY (8) is a tough type and should be competitive against this line up. She raced without cover and got the better of Nedza Thriller to win at Ballarat three starts ago and went down fighting at Maryborough last outing. BETSY ANNE (5) led out then took cover mid-race when she got up to win at Maryborough last outing. She has been placed at her past four attempts and is worth thought again. ALLWATFUNJINGLES (6) is backing up quickly from his effort at Melton on Friday but he finished off well for second at Melton on October 23 so he is not without a chance. BROWN EYED KATE (2) has been placed in two of her past four starts and she is drawn to gain a trail just off the speed so she is worth thought.

SELECTIONS: CHILLHUNNYBUNNY (8), BETSY ANNE (5), ALLWATFUNJINGLES (6), BROWN EYED KATE (2)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: DESERT VIPER (3) was performing well at the trials prior a handy debut fourth behind Whitering, where she raced without cover throughout. She should have benefited from the experience and is worth thought again. CARPOPHORUS (8) is a former Queenslander, which was resuming since April when an eye-catching sixth at his Victorian debut, where he finished quickly from last. He is yet to be placed in 16 starts but his first up run was encouraging and he warrants respect. SINCEILEFTYOU (4) is a nicely bred first starter, which scored at a Melton trial effort last week and has the ability to give a forward showing. PETITE FOUR (2) finished a distant fourth when resuming at Charlton and is a minor place possibility from her good draw.

SELECTIONS: DESERT VIPER (3), CARPOPHORUS (8), SINCEILEFTYOU (4), PETITE FOUR (2)

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: SMOKEN STREPO (6) produced a career best performance when he led throughout and scored by a large margin in a mile rate of 1.57.2 at Terang two starts ago. He is a short course specialist and should give a forward showing. NORMANDY NUGGET (2) performs best when he is close to the speed so he is perfectly drawn to suit his racing patten. He led throughout at a Ballarat victory on October 07. DANCIN WITH ELVIS (1) led throughout when he defeated Dulcie Maureen at Charlton last week and is worth thought again from the pole position despite rising in class. LIVERMERE (4) is a very quick beginner and has been placed in all three starts since resuming. She attempted to lead throughout when a close up third at Mount Gambier last outing.

BACK: SMOKEN STREPO (6) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: SMOKEN STREPO (6), NORMANDY NUGGET (2), DANCIN WITH ELVIS (1), LIVERMERE (4)

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: ROBERT JOHN (5) was resuming since July when he finished off well for a close second behind Massif Central at Maryborough. He won twice in succession towards the end of his last campaign and he should prove hard to beat again. MATISOFF (6) settled in the second half of the field and came out three horses wide from the 800m when he sustained the run to finish a creditable third behind Dance Fighter at Maryborough last week. A repeat performance will see him going close to winning here. ITGETSBETTER (1) did all of the work in the run and proved to be too strong at Mount Gambier last outing. This is a race of more depth but he is drawn to go well again. MAORIS RETURN (4) ran a game race for second at Horsham when resuming then couldn’t work into the race from a poor draw at Maryborough. He should be reaching his peak form after having two runs back from a spell and is not without a chance.

BACK: ROBERT JOHN (5) – 1 unit (each way)

SELECTIONS: ROBERT JOHN (5), MATISOFF (6), ITGETSBETTER (1), MAORIS RETURN (4)
