Lot 29 Racemare La Betty
One of Tasmania’s best racemares, Le Betty, is to go up for auction at the Australian Pacing Gold Autumn Mix Sale online from May 24 to 25.
Le Betty, who has won her way back to a NR 64 mark, has won five races including the $20,000 Jane Ellen and been nine times placed from 38 starts. She has won three races at Wagga this season highlighted by a 1:53.9 effort in February.
By Lazarus from the Falcon Seelster mare Romancing Bromac NZ, Le Betty is being offered as a racing and breeding proposition as Lot 29.
Velocipede, the winner of seven races including four at Gloucester Park and $76,000 in stakes, is listed for sale as Lot 30. The six-year-old Fly Like An Eagle gelding has a ranking of NR 61.
The lightly raced three-year-old Soho Tiger Lily, who is listed as Lot 26, looks an attractive dual purpose proposition. By Soho Tribeca, she’s a half-sister to the Bathurst Gold Bracelet heat winner and final placegetter Soho Vesper Lind and a close relative of the Grand Circuit star Suave Stuey Lombo and the talented racemare Miss Trickin Lombo.
Lot 28, the Bettor’s Delight mare Follow Your Mother, a three-year-old winner in Western Australia last season, is also being sold as a racing or breeding prospect. She is one of three winners from Formidable Miss, an Art Major half-sister to the champion racemare Make Mine Cullen and thus a close relative of Make Mine Memphis, Make Mine Heaven, Captain Hammerhead and Supersonic Miss.
The siblings White Lion and Le Breadstick are being offered as Lots 31 and Lot 25 respectively. White Lion, a rare cream palomino harness horse, is going up for auction as a stallion prospect, while the two-year-old gelding Le Breadstick, who is Vicbred and Tasbred eligible, is a racing proposition.
Lot 27, an unraced three-year-old filly by A Rocknroll Dance out of the grand producer Ashlee’s Gem, is another attractive dual purpose prospect. She’s a granddaughter of the Australian 3YO of the Year Ashlee’s Babe, the dam of the Group winners Scarlet Babe and Bettor Isolate.
The young Captaintreacherous horse Captain Ahab, a multiple Grade 1 winner as a two-year-old in North America and one of last season’s leading first crop sires, is listed as Lot 32. Imported to WA, Captain Ahab has already sired six individual winners including last Friday’s impressive Gloucester Park victor El Rae’s Girl and the $100,000 APG Sales Classic placegetter Chef’s Kiss.
