Harness Racing Australia (HRA) has commenced the development of a new Strategic Plan designed to help shape the future direction of the industry.
As part of the process, HRA has launched a national industry survey seeking input from participants and stakeholders across all sectors of the sport.
The Strategic Plan will focus on five key pillars:
- Advocacy
- Regulation
- Stud Book
- Optimisation
- Welfare
HRA Chief Executive Officer Richard Goodbody said it was important the industry had the opportunity to contribute directly to the future priorities and direction of the national body.
“This is one of the most important pieces of work HRA will undertake and it is critical that the industry has a genuine opportunity to help shape the future direction of Australian harness racing,” Mr Goodbody said.
“We want to hear from as many people as possible across the industry, including owners, breeders, trainers, drivers, clubs, administrators, punters and fans.
“The industry continues to face both challenges and opportunities and it is important that our strategic priorities reflect the views and expectations of the people involved in the sport every day.”
Mr Goodbody said the consultation process was designed to encourage broad participation and open feedback.
“Whilst we have identified five strategic pillars to help guide the process, we are equally keen to hear new ideas and additional opportunities that stakeholders believe should be considered by HRA,” he said.
“This is about building a national strategic direction that supports growth, improves collaboration and ensures the long-term sustainability of the sport.”
The industry survey is now open, and stakeholders are encouraged to participate.
