Former Goulburn Valley trainer-driver Des Pollock passed away last Tuesday, April 14, at the age of 85.
Des was well known throughout the district, having lived his entire life in the region, including Gunbower and more recently Tongala. He had a deep love for the squaregaiter and enjoyed success over many years with a number of horses, headed by his standout performer Kara Supreme, winner of the 1982 Galaxy Grand Slam Final for trotters at Moonee Valley.
Others to carry his colours of blue with yellow braces to success included Kristen, Equal Speed, Emma Blue, Are Cee Darcy, Regal Sretsof and Anna Mae.
Des was farewelled at a private service last week.
Harness Racing Victoria Chairman Bernard Saundry and members of the board pass on their condolences to the Pollock family.
