IT WAS all sunshine and rainbows at Globe Derby Monday as Imposter Boy continued his perfect start to the season.
Successful during his final outing in 2024, Imposter Boy is unbeaten from three appearances this term.
Thrilled with the gelding's performances, owner-trainer Samanatha Hill is hopeful Imposter Boy can stretch his winning streak this weekend.
Thanks to his latest victory the son of Poster Boy will contest Saturday night's Emerging Stars Final at the same venue.
"He has come back in terrific order," Hill said. "I've always had an opinion of him, but knew he needed to mature a bit.
"He did well in his first season, but always gave the impression he would be better as a three-year-old and beyond.
"He's filled out nicely during his time off, and as such, doesn't hit his knee as badly for example.
"I've got no doubt he can continue to improve and develop into a very nice type."
With Hill in the cart, Imposter Boy outstayed his rivals after racing in the 'death seat' to account for Clarenden Cruiser and Aces Shadow in 1:58.3 over 1800 metres.
"He did it the hard way and still showed plenty of fight up the straight," Hill said. "The Final is going to be a step up, so we'll have to see how it pans out."
Bred by former Harness Racing SA Chairman Mark Carey, Imposter Boy was the second leg of a training and driving double for Hill, who scored with My Ultimate Flynn earlier on the card.
Rating 1:57.4 over 1800 metres, My Ultimate Flynn beat Sky Fawkes by two metres, with Rocknroll Spirit two-and-a-half metres away third.
"He came to my stable this season and has done a good job," Hill said. "I've given him seven starts for two wins and three placings.
"He's certainly capable of putting a few more wins on the board."
