HARNESS Racing New South Wales is pleased to announce that both Will Rixon and Josh Gallagher will represent the state in the upcoming Australasian Young Drivers’ Championship.

Crowned NSW’s Leading Concession Driver last season, Will Rixon is driving in fine form once again this year and following a recent string of wins is currently enjoying his best season on record.

The 23-year-old reinsman has driven 164 winners this term already and is currently the second-top driver in the state on premiership wins.

Meanwhile, Gallagher is the defending champion of the AYDC having won last year’s edition in Queensland.

Gallagher is also amongst the top drivers in the state this season and has driven 735 winners in his career including an Inter Dominion Grand Final.

“We are proud to have such talented drivers that are recognised on a national level represent our state in the AYDC,” said HRNSW Chief Executive Peter Buckman.

“This year’s AYDC is going to be a strong competition, and it just goes to show the array of young driving talent there is across Australasia.

“We are honoured to be hosting the series once again and we wish all the drivers luck and a fruitful week.”
