BRILLIANT pacer Captain Ravishing is staying in Western Australia.
Trainer Freddy Taiba said that the five-year-old had thrived for a few weeks in the west, and it made sense to keep him there.
"It's decided, he's staying," he said.
"He can stay here and build up towards races like the Nullarbor and Fremantle Cup."
Captain Ravishing lost no admirers when he sustained a long three-wide run without cover and only tired late for fourth to Minstrel in last Friday week's Group 1 WA Pacing Cup.
A week earlier, the former pin-up pacer brilliantly won the Group 3 Navy Cup at Gloucester Park.
"He's loved it over here," Taiba said.
"It just seems the right place for him, and the racing suits him, too."
"There's a lot of suitable races, and the prize money is good."
"He's having a freshen now, and then we'll plot our path towards the Nullabor (in April)."
Captain Ravishing has shown glimpses of his sparkling best in six runs back from almost a year on the sidelines. He's won three of the six starts.
