Race 1:

OVERVIEW: SERG BLANCO NZ (2) lacks solid racing but he is the class runner of the field and is drawn to run a big race. He looked very sharp when he came from three back on the markers to win a Shepparton trial last week. KOMODO (5) has been racing at Metropolitan level and will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment. He was placed behind the in-form pacer The Art Of Success at Melton on June 06, which is a good form pointer, and he possesses a powerful finishing burst. LETSGO BIG GIRL (8) led throughout to score at Mildura last week and should be competitive again but the move to the second row makes it a difficult task. WHERES THE GOLD NZ (6) returns to Victoria after competing in South Australia and in New South Wales. He recorded a slick mile rate of 1.54.0 when he won at Bathurst last outing after working to the lead from a wide draw and he has the class to figure in the finish. TOUGH AINT ENOUGH (7) boasts consistent form at Mildura and is worth a ticket each way.

BACK: SERG BLANCO NZ (2) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: SERG BLANCO NZ (2), KOMODO (5), LETSGO BIG GIRL (8), WHERES THE GOLD NZ (6)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: LISTEN TO THE HAND (5) is resuming since a sixth at Bendigo in August 2025 but he has been performing nicely at the Shepparton trials. He strikes a suitable assignment for his Mildura debut and must be respected. ROYAL ROCKSTAR (7) is awkwardly drawn on the inside of the second line but he is nearing his maiden success. He raced without cover throughout and battled on strongly for second behind Miss Nashville at his latest runner up performance. ALMIGHTY RUSH (6) tried to sustain a long run out three horses wide from the 700m when a game third at her debut. She is poorly drawn but she should have benefited from the experience of that performance and is worth thought. SWEET LUCY LOU (9) has had no luck whatsoever at her recent Mildura efforts and rates as a value hope. SANTA CASA LEVI (4) ran a better race in the front running role last week and is a chance of finding the lead again here.

SELECTIONS: LISTEN TO THE HAND (5), ROYAL ROCKSTAR (7), ALMIGHTY RUSH (6), SWEET LUCY LOU (9)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: APOLOGY ACCEPTED (9) settled three back on the markers, was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off nicely for second last week. He has been placed in four of his past five starts and deserves to break through for a win. KEAYANG CRIPPA (2) is resuming since March but he was in good form at the end of his last campaign and he will be competitive if he is somewhere near his peak. He possesses early speed and should be prominent throughout from his good draw. STARS LEGACY (6) is an interesting runner. He makes his debut for trainer Aaron Coad and was a winner at Mount Gambier towards the end of his last campaign so he must be kept safe. SNEAKY PHILTRA (7) delivered her best run of the season when she led throughout to score by a big margin last week. She drops back to the second line now and this is a race of more depth but she is worth thought again.

BACK: APOLOGY ACCEPTED (9) – 1.5 units (each way)

SELECTIONS: APOLOGY ACCEPTED (9), KEAYANG CRIPPA (2), STARS LEGACY (6), SNEAKY PHILTRA (7)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: It is an open race with many winning chances. PUNTO CALIENTE (5) settled in a rearward position and was very wide from the 400m so he had excuses at his latest fourth. He finished well and just failed to overhaul Wow You Can Dance at Mildura on June 26 so he must be included amongst the leading chances. GROVE DALE (2) is a fast beginner and is perfectly drawn to suit his racing pattern. He performs best over the sprint distance but he does appear to be well placed against this field. Presuming the emergency AUCKLAND LASS (1) fails to gain a start, SUNSHINE WARRIOR (7) has the perfect trailing draw behind GROVE DALE (2) and will receive every chance. He finished off best to win a race of similar standard three starts ago. ALIENFROMARMSTRONG (6) is stepping up from the maiden class but he has finished off nicely in both of his efforts since resuming and is not without a chance. ROJENBYE (11) will appreciate a drop back in class and is a possible improver.

SELECTIONS: PUNTO CALIENTE (5), GROVE DALE (2), SUNSHINE WARRIOR (7), ALIENFROMARMSTRONG (6)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: EYESEALITTLE (7) finished off best to defeat Huxham Chubb (won since) at Charlton and he follows out behind the likely leader CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (1) so he must be respected. CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (1) is stepping up in class from his latest Mildura victory but he led throughout in that performance and he is drawn to lead again over the sprint distance so he cannot be left out of calculations. VINNY ROCK (8) will appreciate a drop back in class on his recent performances and was a winner at Terang in May. He is a versatile pacer and is worth a ticket each way. SHES POPPY (9) and PARADIGM (10), which produced a big performance to win after making an early mistake at Globe Derby last outing, have both been racing in good form and are worth thought despite their poor draw.

BACK: EYESEALITTLE (7) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: EYESEALITTLE (7), CAPTAIN PAPRIKA (1), VINNY ROCK (8), PARADIGM (10)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: WHITEHAVEN BEACH (2) is racing in good form having won two of his past four starts and should be competitive again. He was forced to race without cover throughout when a creditable fifth at Mildura last week. LOSEASHOE (1) went extremely fast early and peaked late when unplaced behind Calf Pen last week. He hasn’t been placed since an all of the way victory at Mildura on May 15 but he should lead comfortably from the pole position over the sprint distance so he gets his chance to bounce back. RED HOT MIKI (7) attempted to lead throughout when second at Mildura last outing. He has the perfect draw behind LOSEASHOE (1) so he is capable of going one better here. JILPANGER ROSE (10) performs best when she is able to lead so being drawn on the second line is a disadvantage but she is dropping back in class for this assignment and her overall form is good enough to give a bold showing.

SELECTIONS: WHITEHAVEN BEACH (2), LOSEASHOE (1), RED HOT MIKI (7), JILPANGER ROSE (10)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: STARVIN MARVIN (5) began fast to lead, copped plenty of pressure early and eventually took cover then was held up badly for a run and was very unlucky at his latest fourth. He is racing better than his form reads and appears to be a good value chance. SIARGAO ISLAND (1) is resuming since an all of the way victory at Shepparton in November but he is has performed well at the trials at Shepparton and he is ideally drawn to run a big race. CALF PEN (7) sustained a long run out three horses wide to get the prize at Mildura last week. He has the perfect trailing draw behind SIARGAO ISLAND (1) so he should be competitive again. OUT TO STAY (10) performed below expectations at Horsham when resuming but he is clearly the class runner of the field considering he finished fourth in the Breeders Crown Final last season. He did have a tendency to hang in at his latest performance so the smaller track at Mildura is a query but he is too good to dismiss. G B BRAVE (8) settled down at the tail of the field and ran home nicely for a game third last week. He boasts a very consistent record at Mildura and is worth a ticket each way

SELECTIONS: STARVIN MARVIN (5), SIARGAO ISLAND (1), CALF PEN (7), OUT TO STAY (10)

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: SPORTSBOU (8) settled three back on the markers, was shuffled back to last at the 500m and was very wide on the home turn when a big winner over GOOD BOOTS BINDI (9) at Mildura last outing. He is racing in fine form and this race is no harder so he should prove hard to beat again. GOOD BOOTS BINDI (9) was held up for a run at a vital stage and didn’t have much luck when fourth behind Hez So Royal at Mildura last outing. She is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward and is not without a chance. NEVS DREAM (1) will appreciate a drop back in distance for this performance and is a strong front runner. She has won seven races this season, most of which came when she led, so she warrants respect. THEBUCKSONYOU (5) and ODINS BLACK CROWS (6) are both racing well enough to feature prominently in a strong race to end the program.

BACK: SPORTSBOU (8) – 1.5 units (each way)

SELECTIONS: SPORTSBOU (8), GOOD BOOTS BINDI (9), NEVS DREAM (1), THEBUCKSONYOU (5)
