Race 1
IDEN ELIZA JANE (1) ran an improved race last start when finishing second and from the pole draw here, a repeat performance would make her hard to run down. MILLYCENT (7) has found one better at her past three starts and again looms as the main danger despite the wide draw. GEMMY LOU (5) was good first up in the state in what eventuated to be a quick dash home. TISU SUNNY (6) showed sharp gate speed as a two-year-old and has ability, so with natural improvement, could be the value runner. MONTGOMERY LOMBO (3) showed promise in his first preparation, while VOODOO RANGER (2) gets a nice draw but has had plenty of chances to break through.
Selections IDEN ELIZA JANE (1), MILLYCENT (7), GEMMY LOU (5), TISU SUNNY (6)
Race 2
KING VANCE (1) returned to form with a strong 2nd last start and should get his chance again here. With no overwhelming gate speed outside, he can settle on speed and be hard to beat. PEANUT STUTTER (7) is chasing three straight wins and despite the wide draw, has enough gate speed to work forward and be in the finish. PAZIAH (10) got back in the winner’s circle last start with an easy win in this grade and from the trailing draw with a claim, gets another opportunity. PHLOW JO (12) has been putting together some nice runs and if able to get into the race late, will be strong to the line. The rest of the field is very even, with SPOOKY GIRL (3) continuing her consistent form and likely to settle closer in the run, giving her every chance.
Selections KING VANCE (1) , PEANUT STUTTER (7), SPOOKY GIRL (3), PAZIAH (10)
Race 3
SWEET DIXIE (1) looks set to get every chance again from the pole draw and should have the gate speed to hold the front. IDEN OLIVER (6) and EVERYTHING BUT THE (5) have both been racing well in similar grade and if able to find a position on speed from their awkward draws, should be thereabouts in the finish. DONE WELL (9) and COOLANDCOLLECT (11) look the best of the back row runners, both having been hitting the line strongly in recent starts, and would be suited by any genuine tempo throughout.
Selections SWEET DIXIE (1), EVERYTHING BUT THE (5), IDEN OLIVER (6), DONE WELL (9)
Race 4
Expecting early speed from the two main chances in STEPUPNDANCE (3) and WAZOWSKI (4), both of whom have been producing consistent performances of late. There doesn’t look much between them, though STEPUPNDANCE (3) may have the edge from the inside draw and could take advantage early. QUETZALLI (2) resumes as a three-year-old after showing ability at two and with natural improvement off a handy trial, should be in the finish. It’s hard to see many others troubling those main chances, though YARECKON IM SWEET (7) could be the knockout if she were to return to her best form.
Selections STEPUPNDANCE (3), WAZOWSKI (4), QUETZALLII (2), YARECKON IM SWEET (7)
Race 5
MARY MOURNE (1) looks extremely hard to beat from the pole over the mile. Best to overlook her last start when left outside the leader in a fast-run race and instead focus on her dominant win the start prior in similar grade and distance. With limited pressure expected early, she should control the race. SOUTHERN LUKC (6) is racing in terrific form and drops back in grade after competing in the Easter Cup series, though he will need to improve on his last start. MISTA EAGLE (5) appears back to his best and ran a strong third last start after a win the week prior. EAGLE WATCH (3) looks the best of the rest, coming off solid performances in stronger company.
Selections MARY MOURNE (1), MISTA EAGLE (5), SOUTHERN LUCK (6), EAGLE WATCH (3)
Race 6
Expecting a bit of a speed battle early with REPETITIVE (2) likely to have a look for the front, while FAR LEFT FLETCH (1) also has the gate speed to hold up. ASHANTE QUEEN (4) will no doubt be driven aggressively again and look to settle on speed, though small fields can sometimes produce unexpected tactics. MONEYS NO ISSUE (6) has had little luck his past couple after a win prior and will be suited by a genuine tempo. ANDAMAN BAY (5) comes off a last start win and can feature again, while CAN FEEL THE FURY (3) is going better than his form reads and shouldn’t be dismissed.
Selections FAR LEFT FLETCH (1), MONEYS NO ISSUE (6), ASHANTE QUEEN (4), REPETITIVE (2)
Race 7
A typically even low-class race over the short distance where FEELINKINDALUCKY (3) looks the likely leader and should be first to the pegs. He has been racing consistently of late and from the front, gets his chance. DEBT TILL WE PART (7) is usually strong late, though the draw over this trip makes it a tougher task. It would not surprise to see any runner bob up in this field, with STAROFREMEMBRANCE (5) and LALIBELA (6) among those who could be suited if there is genuine tempo on early.
Selections FEELINKINDALUCKY (3) , STAROFREMEMBRANCE (5), LALIBELA (6), DEBT TILL WE PART (7)
