Form Analysis by Craig Rail
Race 1:
OVERVIEW: SILVER PISTOL (11) has been freshened since performing below expectations on September 06 ($2-20 fav). His first two runs back from a spell were very good and he won a heat of the New South Wales Derby earlier in the season so he is clearly the horse to beat. IMA TERMINATOR (9) gained a nice trail and finished off best to win comfortably at his first run for trainer Maree Caldow. This is a race of more depth but he continues to build on his consistent record and should go well again. STEEL RULER (7) was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off quickly via the sprint lane when third behind the in-form pacer Golden Tribe at Melton last outing. He will need luck from a wide draw but he is racing well enough to figure in the finish. DHAULAGIRI (12) is awkwardly drawn but is working up to a win against this class. He finished off solidly for a close second behind Maxnjax at Melton last week. STRAPPING RED (1) is perfectly drawn, TALLARAS SHADOW (4) possesses a powerful finishing burst and CLEAR LEFT (10) is racing well enough to run into a place.
EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely early leader), 3,6
SELECTIONS: SILVER PISTOL (11), IMA TERMINATOR (9), STEEL RULER (7), DHAULAGIRI (12)
RATINGS: 11/ 9/ 7,12/ 1,4,10/ field
SUGGESTED BET: SILVER PISTOL (11) to win
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: RAKAJED (7) is an extremely strong pacer, which finished second at open class level behind Keayang Tokyo three starts ago then followed with placed efforts in strong grade at Menangle. He is likely to progress forward from the wide draw and should make his presence felt. STORMRYDER (5) attempted to lead throughout when second behind LOOK LIKE DIAMONDS (10) at Melton two starts ago. He is a genuine front running pacer and is likely to attempt to lead throughout. LOOK LIKE DIAMONDS (10) is a versatile mare and is racing in great form having won four of her past five starts. She progressed forward to find the lead and held off the challenge of Louie Lou I at Melton last outing. SURFINGMAKESCENTS (6) worked to the front, copped plenty of pressure and went down fighting in a sizzling mile rate of 1.52.2 last outing. She should run her usual honest race. DIAMOND ECLIPSE (8), SWEETNIKKILOU (9) and KISS (11) all have claims in a race of great depth.
EARLY SPEED: 5 (likely leader), 4,6,7
SELECTIONS: RAKAJED (7), STORMRYDER (5), LOOK LIKE DIAMONDS (10), SURFINGMAKESCENTS (6)

Race 3:
OVERVIEW: GATESYS GEM (7) is resuming since winning the New South Wales Derby in May. She has been very impressive at the trials with a win at Geelong and a second behind Watts Up Partytime at Melton, where she picked up ground in a sizzling final quarter of 27.3 seconds. She is a quality horse and a bold showing first up is expected. LADY VICI (8) is shooting for nine straight victories and has been very impressive in her three attempts since resuming. She led throughout and scored comfortably over Dichotomy at her latest attempt. KEAYANG GUCCI (6) gained a nice trail and missed out narrowly behind Remus Phoenix (won again since) at Melton then overcame a tough run to win at Melton. She is a good quality mare and is worth an investment. KYVALLEY MAVEN (1) and VALTINO (10) are both racing well enough to feature prominently.
EARLY SPEED: 7 (possible leader), 1,3,5,6

RATINGS: 7/ 8/ 6/ 1,10/ 3/ 9

Race 4:
OVERVIEW: JACKS ULTIMATE FURY (1) was resuming since an unplaced effort in the Queensland Derby when he led throughout to win at Wagga in a mile rate of 1.52.9. He is ideally drawn and should prove hard to beat again. ITS CONFIDENTIAL (8) was runner up behind JACKS ULTIMATE FURY (1) last week after trailing the leader and he is drawn to gain the same trip so he is worth a ticket each way. STORMS COLLIDE (3) remains undefeated in three starts since resuming and he zipped home in a sizzling final half of 54.9 seconds at his latest victory. He is drawn to obtain a prominent position again and should make his presence felt. FORTY LOVE (6) won two races at Melton prior to a big third behind Diamond Eclipse, where he endured a tough run in 1.52.2. He is drawn to endure another wide trip but he is racing too well to dismiss. MEDINA (2) is undefeated from five starts, RUFF NUT (4) has been in winning form and CIGANO (9) boasts a very impressive strike rate so it is a race of top quality.

Race 5:
OVERVIEW: CATCH A WAVE (2) produced a massive performance to come from last in a sensational last half of 53.8 seconds to win at Melton two starts ago then made ground but couldn’t replicate the performance at his latest seventh. He is much better drawn for this assignment and he is the class runner of the field so he will take beating. WAR DAN BUDDY (9) finished off strongly when a game second behind Horn Player at Melton last outing. He is a maintaining a consistent form line and has the perfect trailing draw so he must be respected. SAHARA BREEZE (5) enjoyed the perfect trip behind the leader when third last week but the final quarter was run in an extremely quick 26.5 seconds and she held her ground so there was nothing wrong with her performance. She won at her previous three attempts so she must be respected. TRIPLE EIGHT (3), HES FROM HEAVEN (6) and DANGEROUS (8) are all worth thought in multiple combinations.
EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1,6

RATINGS: 2/ 5,9/ 6/ 8/ 3

Race 6:
OVERVIEW: JILLIBY BALLERINI (10) is making her standing start debut but she has been in outstanding form and will take beating if she begins safely. She finished off in outstanding final sectionals when she scored by a large margin at Melton last outing. The Inter Dominion champion ARCEE PHOENIX (11) commenced from a handicap of 30m and couldn’t work into the race when sixth in the Menangle Cup. He should strip fitter from that performance and he is clearly the class runner of the field so he must be given another chance. DEREK THE JET (9) is resuming since winning the Need For Speed Prince in October 2024. He remains undefeated in nine starts and will be reaching his peak form after having three recent trials, the latest being a victory at Cobram, so he must be respected. REMUS PHOENIX (5) and KEAYANG STUKA (7) are both racing well enough to finish and HOPPY (2) is facing his toughest test but is suited to competing from the standing start.

RATINGS: 10,11/ 5,9/ 7/ 2

Race 7:
OVERVIEW: COMMODUS (1) pushed forward to find the lead from a wide draw, ran along at a genuine tempo and completely dominated his rivals when he won his heat. He was runner up behind the outstanding filly Tracy The Jet in the Holmfield prior and he is clearly the horse to beat from the pole position. SAM NIEN (3) trailed the leader and finished off best to win the Nutrien Classic at Melton two starts ago. He tried hard when second behind IJUSTCALLEDTOSAY (7) in his heat performance and he is drawn to receive a nice trail just off the speed so he must be considered as one of the leading chances. IJUSTCALLEDTOSAY (7) is very strong and has won five of his ten starts to date. He endured a tough trip when a big winner of his heat so he must be rated highly. I AM HELLBOUND (10) finished off stylishly for an eye-catching third last week. He is a value chance along with CLAUDYS HERO (9) and MUSKEE (12).

OVERVIEW: TRACY THE JET (7) remains undefeated in four starts since resuming with her victories including the Holmfield and the Nutrien Classic. She recorded a slippery mile rate of 1.55.9 when she scored comfortably in her heat and she is clearly the horse to beat again. KEAYANG KURKI (8) pushed forward to find the lead, took cover behind TRACY THE JET (7) and tried hard for second in her heat. She defeated the remainder of the field by a large margin so she looms as the logical main danger again. I AM WILMA (6) was left stranded without cover when third in her heat. She possesses early speed and her overall form is strong so she must be considered as a place hope again. QUEEN KIZEN (3) and IRON WOMEN (4) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.

Race 9:
OVERVIEW: USYK (6) produced an outstanding performance to win the Youthful Stakes, where he scored by a large margin and recorded a mile rate of 1.53.2. He is shooting for four straight victories and is a strong chance of completing the task. MOONLIGHT MOTH (7) made several errors and picked up many lengths when he appeared to be a good thing beaten at his debut. He obviously has ability and should be competitive if he delivers a fool proof display. I SEA RED (5) chased gamely when a close second behind Letsstartinheaven in the Sapling Stakes. He is a speedy type and is worth a ticket each way. OUT TO STAY (3) missed out narrowly after sustaining a long run when second at his debut then raced without cover throughout when he scored at Charlton. This is a race of more depth but he must be respected.
