Form Analysis by RACING AND SPORTS
Race One -
SINALOA (6) won at Penrith two runs back as the hot favourite before having his colours lowered at his latest appearance over 2300m at this track, beaten 4.5 metres when after leading early ended up three-back on the fence. His last run should be overlooked and with better luck in the running can atone. LUKE JOHN (2) was struggling to make his mark before the latest appearance when he scored an all-the-way win as the favourite by 3.5 metres over 1609m at Newcastle. Has the benefit of a good draw. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but having won all three last start runs is worth considering. OUR SWEET DELIGHT (8) comes here following a Group 1 event over 2138m at Albion Park when well fancied but could only finish 10th of 12. Having his first run from the Jason Grimson stable and is worth another chance. TOORAM MAGIC (7) resumes from a spell and with a record of three wins from six starts at this track. Fresh-up should go a bold race.
Race Two -
DOUBLE ACT (5) registered yet another strong performance last time when he battled on bravely to finish third over 1609m at this track, adding to a string of four recent placings at this track. Big chance based on those recent efforts. ROCLEA IMAGE (8) scored at this track three runs ago but has been unplaced in two subsequent runs, the latest when fourth over 1609m at this track, beaten 9 metres. Interesting to see what unfolds from this wide draw. Meets a similar lineup and can finish in the money. CRAFTMANS CHARLIE (2) won here two runs back when leading all of the way but disappointed last time when finishing eighth over 2300m at this track when sent out at long odds. Looks better placed here and can atone. CAULONIA COURAGE (1) won two straight here before finishing seventh last start over 1609m at this track when having little luck in the running after having drawn out wide. From the inside draw should be finishing in the top-three.
Race Three -
ALWAYS BE CHAPS (5) was successful last time out by 1.4 metres at Newcastle over 1609m after leading all of the way as the favourite. Having his first start at this track and should be fighting out the finish. CHICAGO BART (6) has been racing well this prep, filling a top-three position at his last four starts including a third most recently at this track over 1609m after he led early and then took up a trailing position. Won't find this any harder and he can return to winning form. MONTEFIORE (8) is heading the right way, improving last time out as the favourite to finish second at this track over 1609m after getting checked in the early running. He has won all of his nine victories at this track and can atone. MAURLEN BOY (7) must be considered after he finished third over 1609m at this track a week ago after he was checked with 800m to run. Include in exotic bets.
Race Four -
ROCK N ROLL DOO (4) finished sixth last start, beaten 25 metres at this track over 1609m after getting checked with 800m to run. Has been racing in slightly better line-ups and looks well placed to return to form. MAJOR PERRY (3) finished fifth last start, beaten 21 metres at this track over 1609m after having led early then getting pushed back to six-back on the fence. From his good draw is well worth an each-way ticket. HORN PLAYER (8) is a great chance after a string of sound recent performances, the latest a solid fifth at this track over 2300m after having trailed the leader after taking over the front in the early running. Hard to find fault. SKYLORD (5) is the best of the rest after finishing fourth over 1609m at this track last time out at long odds after he was caught out wide after starting from the widest draw. Include in exotic bets.
Race Five -
EYE KEEP SMILING (8) steps back significantly in grade after winning at Group One level last start over 1660m at Albion Park as the hot favourite after racing outside the leader for most of the trip. She has won all of her last 10 starts and was sent out as the favourite in all of those runs. Rated as the leading mare in the Country and should be taking this race out. CLASSIC MISSION (6) is racing well with four top-five finishes in succession, the latest effort a second to the hot favourite at this track over 1609m after racing outside the leader from the bell. Racing well and should be finishing in the money once again. ARDENS ACE (5) is the next best after finishing third over 2300m at this track last time out after racing in the one-one. Won here five runs back and is well worth considering. MONTALBANO (2) finished last of nine here last start at Listed level in a race won by Max Delight over 1609m at this track, beaten 70 metres. Can bounce back to form from an ideal draw.
Race Six -
SHEETWEB WEAVER (10) in what was his second run back from a spell was produced a better effort last start when he scored by a head over 1609m at this track when leading all of the way as the favourite. He has won seven of his last eight starts and can add to that record here. RAKERO BLAZE (9) drew wide last start and was beaten 140 metres into ninth at this track over 1609m after getting badly checked in the early running. She had won her two previous starts and with better luck in the running should be returning to form. AFFAIRE DE COVER (5) is looming as a real threat after a better effort last start, finishing second at this track over 1609m after racing three-wide without cover. Well worth an each-way ticket. TORO STRIDE (11) has a 20m handicap to overcome must be included on the back of some solid recent form, most recently when fifth at this track over 1609m. He has won nine of his 11 victories at this track.
Race Seven -
BAINBRIDGE (9) resumes from a spell and looks forward enough for this after a recent trial win at Goulburn. Interesting to see what unfolds from this wide draw. Likely to run a big race fresh-up to kick off this campaign and rates well as a leading chance. VAN BASTEN (1) has been racing well of late. Finished second at his latest appearance over 1609m at this track, beaten a neck after racing onside the leader for most of the trip. Likely to get all the favours from this nice draw and is in the mix. LAMANDIER (5) looks close to a win after two successive seconds at this track, the latest over 1609m after racing four-back on the fence at this track. Capable enough of taking this out. UNFAZED (4) is the next elect off a last-start win by a nose at this track over 1609m after starting from the widest gate. From a better draw today has to be respected.
Race Eight -
SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR (9) only finished fourth last start over 2300m at this track but was very competitive, beaten only 1.5 metres when trying to lead all of the way as the favourite. Has to contend with a very wide draw but meets a similar line-up and he is capable of another strong performance. Can atone. FORCE FULL (3) gave his opponents no chance last start when he cruised to a 20 metres victory over 1609m at Newcastle after leading all of the way. Has the benefit of a good draw and is well worth considering. MORE GOODA (5) is close to a winning run after two successive third placings, the latest over 1609m at this track after starting from a wide draw. Well worth a second look. GIPSY PRINCESS (4) is in the mix following a fourth at her most recent run over 1609m at this track. Include in exotic bets.
