Form Analysis by Craig Rail
Race 1:
OVERVIEW: MISTER JIMARINGLE (3) will appreciate his best draw for some time and battled on strongly after working hard from the second line when a brave second at Bendigo last week. He gets his chance to break through for a win against this line up. RUBY WINGATE (6) looms as the main danger. She settled in the second half of the field and finished off fast when a game second in a slick mile of 1.54.4 at Charlton last outing. She has been placed in seven of her past nine starts (3 wins) and possesses a powerful finishing burst. CEE CEE LOU (4) has been racing consistently and didn’t have much luck after commencing from the outside of the second line when ninth at Echuca last outing. He performs best when he is close to the lead so he is better suited under these conditions. ALFNALMA (8), KATUNGA EXPRESS (9) and LINE DANCE (10) all have claims in an open race to commence the night.
EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 1,3,4
SELECTIONS: MISTER JIMARINGLE (3), RUBY WINGATE (6), CEE CEE LOU (4), LINE DANCE (10)
RATINGS: 3,6/ 4/ 9,10/ 8/ 12/ 11
SUGGESTED BET: MISTER JIMARINGLE (3) each way
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: BULLAPARK BENO (12) broke stride at the start and lost all chance when eighth ($1-55 fav) at Bendigo last week. He was placed at his previous six starts and will take beating against this line up if he delivers a fool proof display. KINVARA KATE (1) was resuming since November when she scored by over thirty metres at Bendigo three starts ago. She hasn’t performed as well in two runs since but she is a classy mare when racing at her peak and she is perfectly drawn so she must be respected. ULTIMATE TESS (3) was resuming since September when she led throughout and won easily at Maryborough. She met a much stronger field when seventh last outing and she should be competitive under these conditions. MAJESTIC TOOTH (4) finished off quickly for second at Kilmore last outing and is worth a ticket each way.
EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible leader), 3,6
SELECTIONS: BULLAPARK BENO (12), KINVARA KATE (1), ULTIMATE TESS (3), MAJESTIC TOOTH (4)
RATINGS: 1,12/ 3/ 4/ 5,8/ 2,10
SUGGESTED BET: BULLAPARK BENO (12) each way
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: MAORI FRANKLIN (1) makes his debut for trainer Lisa Miles and performed well enough at his trial third behind Hurricane Katie at Bendigo last week to suggest he is a value hope. MONTANA CHEVELLE (9) is backing up quickly from her effort at Cranbourne on Sunday night but she appears to be very well graded in this event. She raced without cover throughout and finished third at Bendigo two starts ago. RAKERO WARRIOR (10) finished off best to defeat FAITH FULL (3) two starts ago then blundered the start from behind the tapes last week. He will appreciate the return to the mobile start and must be considered as a winning chance. FAITH FULL (3) is stepping up in class but he was a dominant winner after finding the lead at Ballarat last week so he is worth thought again.
EARLY SPEED: 3 (possible leader), 4
SELECTIONS: MAORI FRANKLIN (1), MONTANA CHEVELLE (9), RAKERO WARRIOR (10), FAITH FULL (3)
RATINGS: 1/ 9,10/ 3,7/ 6
SUGGESTED BET: MAORI FRANKLIN (1) each way
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: ALDEBARAN JAZMINE (5) is a nicely bred first starter and she looked impressive at the trials last week when she sprinted quickly from last of the three runners to win at Melton. She strikes a suitable assignment first up and must be respected. RIGHT OR WRONG (10) is another nicely bred trotter that has performed well at the trials with his latest effort being a close second at Melton. He is awkwardly drawn but has the ability to be competitive against this line up. IM HAVINTOTROT (7) attempted to lead throughout and was run down by ALDEBARAN JAZMINE (5) at his latest trial second but he won his previous two trials so he warrants respect. SOME DAYS WE DREAM (1) recorded very slow time at her Bendigo trial victory last week but she appeared to do it easily so she could show up from the pole position.
EARLY SPEED: 7 (likely leader), 1,2
SELECTIONS: ALDEBARAN JAZMINE (5), RIGHT OR WRONG (10), IM HAVINTOTROT (7), SOME DAYS WE DREAM (1)
RATINGS: 5/ 7,10/ 1/ 2,6,11
SUGGESTED BET: ALDEBARAN JAZMINE (5) each way
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: TENASEA WHISKEY (7) is resuming since December but he is a classy trotter and will be fitter after several recent trial performances. He was runner up in a heat of the Breeders Crown last season and he was a winner at Maryborough prior so a bold showing is expected. FRITSCH (3) is a fast beginner and is likely to push forward from his good draw. He finished second behind Sky Flair (won again since) at Cranbourne last outing and his third prior was behind the handy type Hilltop Hugh. TIARA GAIL (2) continues to build on her consistent record and she is drawn to receive every chance. She finished second in the race won by Hilltop Hugh after trailing the leader at her latest attempt. MAORI TATTOO (4) and KYVALLEY JAGGER (5) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.
EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 2,6
SELECTIONS: TENASEA WHISKEY (7), FRITSCH (3), TIARA GAIL (2), MAORI TATTOO (4)
RATINGS: 7/ 3/ 2/ 4,5
SUGGESTED BET: TENASEA WHISKEY (7) to win
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: EMJAY JAZZ (9) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and will benefit by an expected genuine early speed. She was runner up behind Jilliby Illusion two starts ago then endured a tough run when fifth at Melton last outing. BETTORSWEETVICTORY (7) settled midfield and finished quickly through the middle to win last week. This race is a little harder but she is worth thought again. ALCATRAZ GIRL (3), FOUR STARZZZ RUBY (4), FINAL BOW (5) and POLLY PEACHUM (6) are all fast beginners that like to lead so the battle for early supremacy will be the key to the result. ROYLE BLOOD (2) is first up without going to the trials but she has been placed in five of her past six starts and should gain a nice trail just off the speed.
EARLY SPEED: 6 (possible leader), 3,4,5
SELECTIONS: EMJAY JAZZ (9), BETTORSWEETVICTORY (7), POLLY PEACHUM (6), ROYLE BLOOD (2)
RATINGS: 9/ 7/ 2,5,6/ 4
SUGGESTED BET: EMJAY JAZZ (9) each way
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: JILLIBY TIDALWAVE (8) is awkwardly drawn on the inside of the second line but she is the class runner of the field. She defeated Amphijet and Yankee Gambler (both won since) at a Ballarat victory then set up a very genuine tempo when a close third at Charlton last outing. TOPHUT JOHNY (5) did well to finish third last week after he was caught wide early and was forced to restrain into a rearward position. He usually performs best when he is close to the speed so he must be considered from his reasonable draw. IAMAWINGATE (6) is a brilliant beginner and his usual tactic is to lead out then take cover. He did lead throughout against easier grade three starts ago and he should be competitive again. KALKADOON DREAMING (7) pushed forward to race without cover and finished sixth at Ballarat last week. He is a tough type and is likely to press forward in the early stages again so he is not without a chance.
EARLY SPEED: 6 (likely early leader), 5,7
SELECTIONS: JILLIBY TIDALWAVE (8), TOPHUT JOHNY (5), IAMAWINGATE (6), KALKADOON DREAMING (7)
RATINGS: 8/ 5/ 6,7/ 1,3/ 2
SUGGESTED BET: JILLIBY TIDALWAVE (8) to win
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: KUALIGHT (9) is a first starter for trainer Russell Jack that has been placed twice behind the subsequent race winner Atomic Black in two recent Cobram trial performances. She is a nicely bred filly and obviously has ability so she is worth an investment. I AM ON THERUN (6) has been runner up in all of his four starts to date. He hasn’t raced since January but he won (dead-heat) a trial at Kyabram last week and he should be competitive if he is somewhere near his peak. THE POSTMASTER (2) attempted to lead throughout when second at Cranbourne two starts ago then broke stride when looking for a run at his latest performance. He is likely to find the lead again and should go well. JUST LIKE NUGGET (4) also possesses early speed and has claims along with KUTANI (7).
EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 4,6,7
SELECTIONS: KUALIGHT (9), I AM ON THERUN (6), THE POSTMASTER (2), KUTANI (7)
RATINGS: 9/ 2,6/ 7/ 4/ 5
SUGGESTED BET: KUALIGHT (9) each way
Race 9:
OVERVIEW: HILLTOP HUGH (2) is stepping up in class but he has been impressive in his two wins to date and he is a good chance of leading throughout. He led and dashed well clear of his rivals to win easily last outing. JACK SPRAT (6) is racing in peak form having won three of his past four starts. He worked to the front and held off his rivals over the latter stages when he scored at Geelong last outing. EXALTED LADY (1) is a good chance of ending up trailing the leader from the pole position and she won via the sprint lane three starts ago so she must be respected. EVERYBODYLOVESME (4) contested the Mares Sprint Championship Final at Melton on Saturday night so she will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment.
EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 1,4,6,7
SELECTIONS: HILLTOP HUGH (2), JACK SPRAT (6), EXALTED LADY (1), EVERYBODYLOVESME (4)
RATINGS: 2/ 1,6/ 4/ 3,8
