RACE 1
IMA BALLERINA (2) should have the gate speed to lead here and finds a very suitable race to break her maiden on the 20th attempt. She wasn’t beaten far in what looked a stronger race taken out by Just Pinny last start at Redcliffe.
BOLD PERSONALITY (6) got a good run through last start when there was a bit of interference to other runners and was able to run a good placing there. Has an awkward draw in this race but if the luck comes she can be thereabouts again.
BERRYLICIOUS (8) was first up in QLD last start where she got a long way back and was doing her best work late. May need to be running on again in this race from the back row draw.
GLENEAGLE HUNTER (9) led last start and was taken on through parts of that race and did well to battle on. He Is likely to find this tougher from the outside back row draw but shouldn’t be too far away.
SELECTIONS: IMA BALLERINA (2), BOLD PERSONALITY (6), BERRYLICIOUS (8), GLENEAGLE HUNTER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: IMA BALLERINA (2) to win.
RACE 2
LONGSHOT (6) was a runner up to Premier Paul last start who has since won impressively at Albion Park. He has been impressive so far in his career in a number of starts and should prove extremely hard to beat in what is a moderate maiden field. Likely to go around a short priced favourite.
LANEYS LAST (7) made a break two starts ago when looming as a genuine winning hope before battling away fairly last start. Shouldn’t be far away in this race from a suitable draw.
PUNTERS PRINCESS (4) showed gate speed last start at Redcliffe to find a good position and battled away fairly there. Lands in what looks a quite moderate maiden field outside of the likely favourite Longshot.
FUNTIMES (2) has some early speed and a good draw. Secured a good run three starts ago at Marburg and battled away fairly.
SELECTIONS: LONGSHOT (6), LANEYS LAST (7), PUNTERS PRINCESS (4), FUNTIMES (2)
SUGGESTED BET: LONGSHOT (6) to win.
RACE 3
AZOR AHAI (8) had his first start for new trainer Dan Russell last start and ran well enough there sitting up on the speed on a frantic tempo before making an early move to challenge the leader. He should be better for the run there and seems to race well from the stand starts.
MERGE RIGHT (7) didn’t have much luck last start when sitting without cover and battling away fairly. She hasn’t raced for over a month which is a genuine query in this race and she may need the run.
ONE LAST ROLL (5) starts off the front row here and can begin quickly from the stand start. He sat without cover recently at this track and was well beaten but they did run a slick last half there.
THE HARRIS HAWK (6) wasn’t beaten far last start in a fast mile rate for the grade after sitting off the pegs. He can be thereabouts with a clean getaway.
SELECTIONS: AZOR AHAI (8), MERGE RIGHT (7), ONE LAST ROLL (5), THE HARRIS HAWK (6)
SUGGESTED BET: AZOR AHAI (8) to win.
RACE 4
MUSIC MOTH (1) has been badly out of form for some time this horse and was beaten a long way last start. She does appear to strike a more suitable race where she gets a professional driver and the inside draw. Anywhere near her best and she should be a lot more competitive.
PROSPECTUS (5) hasn’t been in very good numerical form but hasn’t had the best of luck and this is likely to be one of the weakest races she has every contested. She will need to be well driven from the wide draw but can figure with luck.
WILLROBY (6) ran reasonably last start at Redcliffe when getting back in the run. Will be relying on plenty of luck in this race after drawing inside the back row but does follow out a horse with gate speed.
COULD IT BE ME (9) didn’t have the best of luck last start when running into a number of dead ends. He ran well there and lands in a race that looks easier. If the speed is on he should be right in the finish.
SELECTIONS: MUSIC MOTH (1), PROSPECTUS (5), WILLROBY (6), COULD IT BE ME (9)
SUGGESTED BET: COULD IT BE ME (9) to win.
RACE 5
ABSOUTELY STOKED (7) was able to secure a perfect run last start on the leaders back and sprinted nicely to run a narrow second to Beach Magic over the 2040 at Redcliffe. She draws to do no work in this race which is seemingly how she races best and she can be running on late.
TULHURST SMOOCHER (4) showed very good gate speed in a recent race at Marburg where she led and won convincingly. Although it was probably a weaker race she rated good time and if she leads and runs similar time she should win again.
COPY WRITER (2) has early speed but seems to be racing well sat up for one run at them. She has options from a good draw and has picked up her form in recent outings.
DOOLITTLE DAYS (1) started from a wide gate last start and couldn’t get into the race there. Draws ideally this time and can land an economical run.
SELECTIONS: ABSOUTELY STOKED (7), TULHURST SMOOCHER (4), COPY WRITER (2), DOOLITTLE DAYS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ABSOLUTELY STOKED (7) to win.
RACE 6
HES REGAL (1) is a gate speed horse that appears to have drawn ideally in this race in gate 1. He had plenty of excuses when well beaten last start in solid time for the grade by Tulhurst Smoocher. He looks hardest to beat.
DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (6) looks likely to secure a great run through in the early stages of this race. She has been racing well in recent starts and looks another top hope in this race if the run comes at the right time.
SAINT LOUIS BEAT (7) was running on late last start from a long way back in a race that didn’t suit horses running on. He would appreciate a more genuine early tempo in this race.
GELDOF (9) was a winner two starts ago after leading and rolling along. Ran another good race last start finishing third after doing plenty of work mid race.
SELECTIONS: HES REGAL (1), DOOLITTLE DOOZZIE (6), SAINT LOUIS BEAT (7), GELDOF (9)
SUGGESTED BET: HES REGAL (1) to win.
RACE 7
SPORTING TRISTAR (1) was a forgivable run last start when being left without cover over racing badly. She led her start prior and was taken on throughout there by Betting Baron who did go on to win. She should be able to lead this race and if she can control things out in front she should be hard to catch.
SHES BEWITCHED (6) was a dominant winner five starts ago after racing on the leaders back at Redcliffe. She looks likely to secure a similar type of run in this race on the back of a gate speed horse. She hit the line solidly last start from a long way back in the run.
TOMMY BLIGH (5) worked forward and sat without cover and was well beaten into second last start at Redcliffe over the 2040. He should appreciate the step back in grade and trip and looks hard to beat.
NIGHT NINJA (2) should be able to secure a good run in this race starting from a suitable gate. He looks well suited in this company and should be an improver.
SELECTIONS: SPORTING TRISTAR (1), SHES BEWITCHED (6), TOMMY BLIGH (5), NIGHT NINJA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SHES BEWITCHED (6) to win.
RACE 8
BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (4) ran a good race recently at this track when leading and was just beaten by Splashndash who was able to work away from the inside at the right time. He hit the line well enough last start at Redcliffe. He draws wide in this race which looks awkward but it does appear easier than his recent outings.
LA SABINA (3) was off the pegs last start in a race the first 3 home were on the fence. She appears to draw slightly awkwardly again in this race in gate 3 but does have good gate speed and should be able to find a position close enough to the speed.
HANOVER LECTOR (2) has good gate speed and draws the best of the main chances in this race. She has previously been able to lead all the way over this track and trip and has to go in as one of the better hopes.
SHEREACTS (8) got back in the run last start in a race that was dominated by horses up on speed on the pegs in Threentwo and Our Ultimate Lois. She is versatile in this type of grade and can be put into the race.
SELECTIONS: BRIAN CHRISTOPHER (4), LA SABINA (3), HANOVER LECTOR (2), SHEREACTS (8)
SUGGESTED BET:
