Bendigo, Wednesday 25 June

Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: JILLIBY TIDALWAVE (11) produced a big finish to score in a strong mile rate of 1.56.4 at Ballarat last outing. This is a race of similar standard and she is racing in career best form so she must be considered as a winning chance again. CALZAGHE (13) is a juvenile gelding making his debut against proven winners (FINAL BOW (3) has won 26 races!) so it is a tough task, let alone from the outside of the second row but he was a brilliant trial winner at Melton last week, where he scored by fifty metres. He obviously has ability and is worth following. INTERPRETATION (6) was held up for a run at a vital stage and produced a big finish when an eye-catching second behind McWizard last outing. She has been runner up in four of her past five starts so she is nearing a win against this class. FULLOFFIGHT (8) was impressive last week and is worth thought again. WICHITA DANCE (1), KARUMA KEV (2) and FINAL BOW (3) are all fast beginners that like to lead so the battle for early supremacy might be crucial to the result.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible leader), 2,3

SELECTIONS: JILLIBY TIDALWAVE (11), CALZAGHE (13), INTERPRETATION (6), FULLOFFIGHT (8)

RATINGS: 11/ 6,13/ 8/ 1,2,3/ 4,7

SUGGESTED BET: JILLIBY TIDALWAVE (11) each way

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: FORESIGHT (1) led and took cover early, pushed forward to lead again and kicked clear on the turn when she scored at Kilmore last week. She is racing in peak form and is meeting a field of similar quality so she is a big chance of completing the hat trick. IDEAL MOTH (10) left a trailing position to move up without cover when a big winner over CEE CEE LOU (2) last week. She is a strong filly and is one of the leading chances again. RABADA (13) was heavily supported and had little luck when he came from last and stormed into third at Kilmore last week. He is poorly drawn and will be giving the leaders a big start again but he is too good to dismiss. CEE CEE LOU (2) has been placed at his past six starts and possesses early speed so he must be considered as a winning chance.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible leader), 2,6,7

SELECTIONS: FORESIGHT (1), IDEAL MOTH (10), RABADA (13), CEE CEE LOU (2)

RATINGS: 1/ 10,13/ 2/ 6,9

SUGGESTED BET: FORESIGHT (1) to win

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: MAJOR MAX (12) did everything right and was able to break through for a win after sustaining a strong run from the 600m at Kilmore last week. He has made a lot of errors this preparation but he will take beating if he delivers another fool proof display. AZALEA MAE (8) raced against much harder opposition in heats of the Mares Sprint Championship prior to a strong second behind Touchandgo, where she endured a tough run on the outside of the leader. She is awkwardly drawn but appears to be well placed in this field. WHATS THE TEA (13) started favourite in a race of similar standard and galloped away, losing her chance at Kilmore last week. She has a tough draw to overcome but she is worth another chance. TOUCHANDGO (7) finished off best to win at Maryborough last outing and is worth thought again. COL DU GRANON (5) is usually competitive against this class and should run his usual honest race.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 2,3

SELECTIONS: MAJOR MAX (12), AZALEA MAE (8), WHATS THE TEA (13), TOUCHANDGO (7)

RATINGS: 8,12/ 5,7,13/ 9

SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR MAX (12) each way

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: JOE GOT ROLLED (8) is awkwardly drawn but she has been racing in great form and deserves to break through for a win. She won a heat of the Mildura Cup but didn’t take her place in the Final, followed with a third in the Ouyen Cup and has been runner up at her past two attempts in fast time. MITZI SAID (9) is backing up quickly from her effort at Melton on Saturday but her first run back from a spell was terrific, where she finished off strongly at Metropolitan level. She is a speedy mare and looms as one of the leading chances. HEAVENS GIFT (4) is stepping up in grade but she is capable of running quick time over the sprint distance. She led throughout in a mile rate of 1.55.5 at Bendigo on April 09. CLARA ROCKS (3) is a fast beginner and should be prominent throughout. RIO ROCK (10) and ALWAYSBEALADY (11) are both capable of showing up without surprising.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 3,6

SELECTIONS: JOE GOT ROLLED (8), MITZI SAID (9), HEAVENS GIFT (4), CLARA ROCKS (3)

RATINGS: 8,9/ 4/ 3,10,11/ 6

SUGGESTED BET: JOE GOT ROLLED (8) each way

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: WICKED MITZI (7) is racing in peak form and is a short course specialist so she must be respected. She finished off strongly and just failed to pick up Our Princess Di when a narrow second last week. MISTER JIMARINGLE (5) is a versatile pacer that has been placed in three of his past four starts. He was doing his best work at the end when fifth behind Muselet last week. SOMETUFFLUV (4) is a tough pacer, which is drawn to be prominent throughout. He had little luck after commencing from the inside of the second line when fifth (4m) behind Lou Will (won again since) at Echuca last outing. YA BOTTOM DOLLAR (6) is backing up quickly from her effort at Shepparton on Tuesday night but she was a winner at Shepparton three starts ago and is worth thought again.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 1,4,6

SELECTIONS: WICKED MITZI (7), MISTER JIMARINGLE (5), SOMETUFFLUV (4), YA BOTTOM DOLLAR (6)

RATINGS: 7/ 4,5/ 6/ 1,2

SUGGESTED BET: WICKED MITZI (7) each way

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: ALABAMA MAY (5) had a crack for the lead in the early stages but couldn’t get across so she did well after using energy to fill second spot behind Hilltop Hugh at Ballarat last outing. Her two runs back from a spell have been sound and she is a good chance of finding the lead here so she is capable of going one better. WAIKARE ADRIENNA (4) is a debutante for trainer Graham McDermott, which finished fast for a trial third at Bendigo then followed with a last of four behind the Metropolitan class trotter Picket Wire. She is nicely bred and strikes a suitable assignment first up so she cannot be underestimated. SAMMY HALLER (10) ran a reasonable race for fifth at his debut performance and should have improved with the experience so he cannot be left out of calculations. JETAWAY SAINT (3) and ARIVADERCHI (6) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (likely leader), 3

SELECTIONS: ALABAMA MAY (5), WAIKARE ADRIENNA (4), SAMMY HALLER (10), JETAWAY SAINT (3)

RATINGS: 4,5/ 10/ 3,6

SUGGESTED BET: ALABAMA MAY (5) to win

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: HALLEBESOFINE (9) has shown a lot of promise at her three starts to date and has the advantage of race experience over most of her rivals. She took on older horses when she overcame a slow beginning at her latest game second. HARPERSEVEN (1) is a debutante for trainer Jayne Davies that has been placed in all of her three trial efforts to date. She trailed the leader, angled to the outside on the home turn and missed out narrowly at her latest trial second so she must be considered as a winning chance. KYVALLEY RAMBLER (3) is a first starter for trainer Chris Svanosio, which won at his latest trial performance and is drawn to run a good race. WHAT A SERVE (4) recorded slow time at her latest Shepparton trial victory, where she led throughout but she went to the line jogging so she cannot be underestimated.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 1,3

SELECTIONS: HALLEBESOFINE (9), HARPERSEVEN (1), KYVALLEY RAMBLER (3), WHAT A SERVE (4)

RATINGS: 1,9/ 3/ 2,4/ 8

SUGGESTED BET: HALLEBESOFINE (9) each way

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: AMOUR MATERNAL (5) has been promising a win for some time and should take holding out in the run to the finish. She settled in a rearward position and finished off quickly for third behind Coconut Mickey at her latest attempt. TELLA SHES DREAMIN (3) began very quickly to lead, took cover and battled on well for second behind Imperial Command at Maryborough last week. She is likely to adopt similar tactics now and is worth thought again. KARBINE (1) is likely to be headed off at the start but he finished off very quickly when third behind Vera Lane last week so he cannot be left out of calculations. ZESTA LA GO GO (2) won at his first run for trainer Michelle Eastman then followed with a third behind Kyvalley Jetstream after he led out then took cover. He is drawn to be prominent throughout.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 2,6

SELECTIONS: AMOUR MATERNAL (5), TELLA SHES DREAMIN (3), KARBINE (1), ZESTA LA GO GO (2)

RATINGS: 5/ 1,3/ 2/ 8

SUGGESTED BET: AMOUR MATERNAL (5) to win

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: FOURTH RESPONSE (1) is resuming since December but he has performed well enough at the trials to warrant respect. He showed good gate to lead, took cover and just failed to overhaul Coniston at his latest trial second. MY ULTIMATE LUIGI (8) gained a nice trail and chased hard when a close second behind Indi Party Mood at Bendigo last outing. This race is no harder and he is nearing his maiden success. BEST BY A MILE (7) followed up some handy trial performances with a first up sixth (6m) at Geelong, where he picked up ground from a rearward position. He has ability and is worth a ticket each way. CATHERINE (2) attempted to lead throughout when third behind Sporty Philtra at Geelong last outing. She is a good chance of finding the lead again and is worth thought at her first run for trainer Alex Ashwood.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (possible leader), 1,5

SELECTIONS: FOURTH RESPONSE (1), MY ULTIMATE LUIGI (8), BEST BY A MILE (7), CATHERINE (2)

RATINGS: 1/ 8/ 2,7/ 4/ 6

SUGGESTED BET: FOURTH RESPONSE (1) to win

Race 10:

OVERVIEW: IDEAL BANDIT (4) is a first starter for trainer Shane Sanderson, which won a trial at Cobram then followed with an eye-catching third at a Shepparton trial performance, where he finished off fast. He appears to have a promising future and is a big winning chance on debut. EEBEEBEE (7) continues to improve with the benefit of racing and finished determinedly from midfield at her latest third behind Indi Party Mood. She is widely drawn but should be finding the line well again. SONORA SUNSET (1) was beaten by a long way at her latest third, where she set the speed but she has been placed in all of her three starts to date so she is not without a chance. SOHO PINA COLADA (6) won a trial over Insider Trading at Maryborough recently and is worth thought despite the wide draw.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 1

SELECTIONS: IDEAL BANDIT (4), EEBEEBEE (7), SONORA SUNSET (1), SOHO PINA COLADA (6)

RATINGS: 4/ 1,7/ 6/ 8

SUGGESTED BET: IDEAL BANDIT (4) to win
