OVERVIEW: MAGGIE MOTH (3) was a tough second on debut for Alex Ashwood when doing all the work before being grabbed late by a smart horse who did less work. She put the writing on the wall in that race and can go one better. FLOJOS BEST (8) can come on from her recent debut third. HELENS BOY (1) is a Shane Sanderson prepared debutante but only beat one home in his only trial. ANGELS WATCHING (7) is the other chance.

THE AFRICAN QUEEN (4) must be respected whilst KEEP BETTING (1) was huge last week. QUIET TOUCH (9) and MAGIC MATTY (5) are chances also.

She has been just behind the placegetters of late and go a few places better. OUTA CONTROL (7) maps to enjoy an economical run so he won’t be far away if gaining clear air. AUCKLAND LASS (10) blotted her copybook last week but was going well prior. CRUZ WITH ROME (9) rates next.

OVERVIEW: CHEERS POVERTY (1) had his chance from the front last week but just found an in-form mare a bit too good. This race is a bit easier, and he will receive every chance. BEARTASTIC WRITER (7) is another strong frontrunner that will at least be on the pegs and should get his chance late. That pair clearly look the pair to beat from their peg barriers. CHALKNCHEDDAR (10) was a good winner last time whilst DARK SANDS (8) rates next.

Race 5:
OVERVIEW: DAYLIGHT (7) broke through for a victory last week after three consecutive seconds. She is in the form to win again if seeing some daylight! KEAYANG CRIPPA (5) produced clearly his best effort this campaign last week when finishing much closer than he was entitled to, and nearly winning for that matter. He is a roughie chance as is SIR VINCENT (9) on his last couple of runs whilst ROSTOVA (10) draws poorly and will need to produce her best.

OVERVIEW: SHES POPPY (5) has been in fantastic form, and it is very hard to tip against her after her third consecutive victory last week which was in a race at this level. LAZENA (4) is the interesting runner moving from Kevin Pizzuto to Alex Ashwood and obviously must be given plenty of respect. LETSGO BIG GIRL (10) chased home SHES POPPY (5) last week and will be hoping for a solid early tempo. ALLSOPP (1) is the other key chance.

OVERVIEW: MEMPHIS BLASTER (1) handled the track much better at his second run in this country last week and only found Williams and Danny Ray too good for him after being three deep to the death. The pegs barrier should suit, and he is a good chance. OZZIE DAYBREAK (5) continues to race very consistently and is a strong hope as is SUNSHINE WARRIOR (4) who has won four of his past eight. AMERICAN BOXER (9) is best of the rest.

He is a good chance of keeping the momentum going. BARACK ENOBRAC (1) draws favourably and must be given a big chance from the draw. DANNY RAY (9) looks to have some confidence up after breaking through two back and then running into a smart one last week. LOUIEVILLE (4) rates next.

OVERVIEW: FENG SHUI STAR (7) was a beaten favourite last week but had the task of trying to sit outside Shes Poppy. He maps to get a nice run and was a winner at this level two back. RIMU VALLEY (8) continues to race very well and must be a big chance. CEE CEE IN AMERICA (9) was unlucky at St Arnaud and will be close-up. PRIORITISE (10) had a flat tyre last week so he can be forgiven for that.

Stablemate IDEAL ESCAPE (7) is going just as well but will be giving OUR VINCENT CAN GOGH (4) a start from his awkward draw. IMPERIALS REASON (2) and DAYLIGHT AT DAWN (9) rate next best.
