Burnie, Friday 26 December

Form Analysis by Braden Howlett

Race 1

ONLINE MODEL (2) got the tapes caught in her legs last start here and still paced away well to lead. No reason she cant lead and win again here, although may not get it as easy in front as previously. JADEZ (1) started off 10m in the same race and ran 2nd when gaps appeared late along the pegs. If she began well enough to hold out the (2) early, she may take some beating. TWILIGHT BEACH (4) draws the front for the first time in a stand which will enhance her chances.  NO NUKES SKIPPER (3) and GOBSMACKED (5) are very hit and miss from the stand start but have been racing well, whilst YARECKON IM SWEET (6) is clearly the class horse in the field, but starts from 30m behind and has been very badly away both attempts from the stand.

Selections JADEZ (1), ONLINE MODEL (2), TWILIGHT BEACH (4), YARECKON IM SWEET (6)

Race 2

JUDYSMEMUM (2) was super impressive on debut, when winning by 19m in good time after doing all the work outside the leader. If she found the front, she would take some running down. FAR LEFT FLETCH (7) was too strong in the same class race at Burnie last start, and she looks to get a nice trailing draw and will get her chance again. KOSTYUK LEIS (8) faces a huge drop in class here from an open mares race last start, and placings in harder races than this prior to that. She’ll be following the (7) everywhere it goes and may take some holding out late. Next best is PIROTIC (3) who broke her maiden nicely last start and will look to sit on speed, to which id be surprised if those 4 horses above didn’t fill the trifecta spots.

Selections JUDYSMEMUM (2), FAR LEFT FLETCH (7), KOSTYUK LEIS (8), PIROTIC (3)

Race 3

Maidens are always hard to assess, and this is no different with most having had many  chances in their career. SHEZALLLOLLIES (2) was a big improver when leading 2 starts back in Launceston, and looks like finding the pegs here. She trialled good earlier this week and should have every hope to break through. MONTGOMERY LOMBO (4) is the one with most scope to improve having only had 2 starts, where he was a nice 3rd on debut before a disappointing effort 6 days later.  Back to 3 weeks between runs here and would expect him to go well. TASSIE DAZZLER (7) has had 43 attempts without winning, but his last start 2nd and a nice trailing draws give him a chance again. BROADWAYS BLING (9) ran a nice 2nd on the pegs first up at Burnie 2 weeks ago, and may be the one running home well if there’s some speed on.

Selections SHEZALLLOLLIES (2), MONTGOMERY LOMBO (4), BROADWAYS BLING (9), TASSIE DAZZLER (7)

Race 4

These horses competed in heats two weeks ago, and now meet for the final of the North West Plate.  SMOOTH DEAL (1) and ALBERIO (2) are racing out of class, but both ping the tapes which gives them their chance to be in the finish again.  DENNY (10) got a nice run in transit to win in his heat after a drop back in class , and will again be looking for a nice cart in the race to be finishing home well, as will SAPPHIRE GAMBLER who made some ground late out wide in the same race. DONE WELL (4) took shortcuts and was held up over the line, whilst CAN FEEL THE FURY (7) was slow away, but made a mid race move and was too good in the slower heat, in which it was more a dash home in.

Selections SAPPHIRE GAMBLER (8), DENNY (10), SMOOTH DEAL (1), DONE WELL (4)

Race 5

JUST FOLLOW ME (2)  has a great stand start record, and ran a good time over the long 2500m distance here in October when winning. If she lobbed on top, she will be mighty hard to run down. DIAMONDSBLUE (3) on her day can dash very quickly when driven with cover, and should land a nice position on speed to be in the finish. MAJOR DAVVIN (7) will be on speed and ensure the tempo is solid throughout, whilst FLEETWOOD ROCK (9) was very good in Hobart 5 days ago when making  a move mid race and battling on well for 2nd. TULLAH GIRL (1) will be having a nice pegs run on speed and will be dangerous late with any clear running.

Selections JUST FOLLOW ME (2), FLEETWOOD ROCK (9) DIAMONDSNBLUE (3), TULLAH GIRL (1).

Race 6

HOWSWEETTHESOUND (2) showed good gate speed, before winning easily 5 days ago in Hobart. This race looks no harder especially with the second placed horse in that race being SWEET AMOUR (5), who draws the outside front row here, and will have to do it tougher than she did when getting the front last start.  HORRIE OTARA (4) is a consistent type in these sort of races who will sit on speed and be thereabouts, whilst QUEENOFDANCE (7) and CINOCAL JAMANE (8) will be hoping for some speed on early, and may finish off better than previous starts where they have been on speed, after being used early. EVA WARATAH (1) gets her chance to run a cheeky race from the draw, but would need to improve going off her runs in the state so far.

Selections  HOWSWEETTHESOUND (2), SWEET AMOUR (5), HORRIE OTARA (4), CINOCAL JAMANE (8)

Race 7

GOODTIME OSCAR (4) returned to form with a strong win outside the leader in Hobart 5 day ago. Dare say he will be driven similar again here and attempt to out tough them. IM QUITE AMERICAN (1) will be looking to ping the tapes as he does and may take some beating over the short 1892m distance, whilst RANIERI (2) will also be on speed and be looking for a pegs run and should be in the finish. CHRIS BE QUICK (5) looks the best of the best, where MACH ANGELO (3) and GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (6) been well below their best for a while now, but should get every chance still in the small field.

Selections GOODTIME OSCAR (4), IM QUITE AMERICAN (1), RANIERI (2), CHRIS BE QUICK (5)

Race 8

Another even contest to round out the night, where if CEE TEE CHELSEA (8) brought her form from 3 starts back when winning, she would take some holding out. SINISTER (9) has been racing well without much luck, and if was able to get a nice cart into the race, then will be fighting out the finish. MORRIS BROWN (5) will look to have a crack for the front from out wide early and would take some running down if got across, whilst TAKING A PUNT (1) also has good gate speed and gets his chance to improve from the nice draw. DAZZLE ME (10) continues to drop down the rating system, and will be running home well late if there’s some speed on early, whilst ROYAL CADENCE (4) made use of the pole draw in a weaker field last start to win.

Selections MORRIS BROWN (5), CEE TEE CHELSEA (8), SINISTER (9), DAZZLE ME (10)
