Form Analysis by Craig Rail

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: THE POSTMASTER (6) recorded a sizzling mile rate of 1.54.2 after setting the speed at his last run over the sprint distance and a repeat performance will see him being almighty hard to beat here. His latest effort was in a strong heat of the Super Series and he is back to racing against his own class now. SPIRIT OF SAHARA (2) is resuming since a sixth behind Forty Love in the Graduate at Melton in September. He will strip fitter after a recent Bendigo trial fourth and is drawn to be prominent throughout. SHARP INTEREST (11) finished quickly from the second half of the field when third behind Wicked Mitzi in a terrific mile rate of 1.53.0 at Bendigo on Wednesday night. His overall form is strong and he is worth thought again. SOHO PLAYGIRL (12) performs best when she is able to lead and she is now an outside of the draw horse after galloping at the start last week but she is capable of running fast time over the sprint distance so she is not without a chance.

EARLY SPEED: 6 (likely leader), 1,2

SELECTIONS: THE POSTMASTER (6), SPIRIT OF SAHARA (2), SHARP INTEREST (11), SOHO PLAYGIRL (12)

RATINGS: 6/ 2,11/ 12/ 1,3/ 8,9/ 10

SUGGESTED BET: THE POSTMASTER (6) to win

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: MANDA KYVALLEY (13) is poorly drawn but is the class runner of the field and should prove hard to beat. She was a winner at Ballarat on September 18 and she chased hard when a game second behind the smart trotter Keayang Brandy at her latest attempt. BETSY ANNE (7) was resuming since July when she moved away from the markers to gain a position in the running lane and finished off well for second behind Coconut Mickey (won again since) at Echuca. She should strip fitter from that run and looms as one of the leading chances. MIDNITE MUSCLE (4) was left without cover early, eventually gained a one out and one back trail and battled on well for third at Bendigo last outing. He is trotting in good form and has the early speed to be prominent throughout. SETTLE THE BILL (8) has won three of her past five starts and looms as one of the leading chances again but she may be shuffled back on the markers from the inside of the second line.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 2,5

SELECTIONS: MANDA KYVALLEY (13), BETSY ANNE (7), MIDNITE MUSCLE (4), SETTLE THE BILL (8)

RATINGS: 13/ 4,7/ 8/ 5,12

SUGGESTED BET: MANDA KYVALLEY (13) to win

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: MYNAMEISRUBY (9) settled three back on the inside and used the sprint lane when a handy finishing second behind Lorimermajor last week. She has the perfect trailing draw and should be finding the line nicely again. OUR MYSTERY BET (10) continued his run of bad luck when he was held up for a run at a vital stage and picked up ground in the latter stages last week. He is racing better than his form reads and is worth a ticket each way. MIKI MARK (13) rates as a value chance. He scored at Kilmore on October 23, finished off nicely for second behind Spun Silver two starts ago then had excuses after a slow getaway last week. DOT BALL (8) and TEX GOES BANG (11) both have claims in a very open race.

EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 2,7

SELECTIONS: MYNAMEISRUBY (9), OUR MYSTERY BET (10), MIKI MARK (13), DOT BALL (8)

RATINGS: 9,10/ 4,8,13/ 11/ FIELD

SUGGESTED BET: MYNAMEISRUBY (9) each way

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: SHAQ (9) settled down last from a poor draw, made ground in the home straight and ran into a dead end late when an unlucky fourth behind Asmileandawinx last week. He has the perfect trailing draw and he is versatile so he looms as the horse to beat. MIDNIGHT CRIMES (5) gained a nice trail and battled on fairly for third at Ararat last outing. She does perform best when she is able to lead and she has performed nicely at the trials since. She is a good chance of finding the front running role here so she is worth a ticket each way. FLIP A COIN (10) was driven aggressively to find the lead mid-race and proved to be too strong at Shepparton three starts ago. He endured a tough run when fourth behind Krakey last outing and should be competitive under these conditions. MAJOR MAURIE (4) should gain a trail just off the speed and has claims along with WITH IN REASON (6), which appeared to be travelling well before copping a check approaching the home turn at his latest sixth.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 2,3,4

SELECTIONS: SHAQ (9), MIDNIGHT CRIMES (5), FLIP A COIN (10), MAJOR MAURIE (4)

RATINGS: 9/ 5,10/ 4,6/ 8/ 11

SUGGESTED BET: SHAQ (9) to win

Race 5:

OVERVIEW:  WICKED WIZARD (12) is a handy 3yo pacer and should prove hard to beat. He finished off fast for an eye-catching second behind Sharp Interest at Shepparton then followed with a second in fast time at Wagga. PRINCESS ARNA (13) zipped around the field from last to find the lead with a lap remaining when she scored at Bendigo on Wednesday. She ran home for a nice second in a slick mile rate of 1.54.9 prior so she is worth thought again. ARRAPS (5) led throughout to win clearly at Echuca last outing. He is a good chance of finding the lead again so he is worth an investment. BYRNESIDE BOOM (9) is a smart horse when he is able to put it altogether and cannot be left out of calculations. LOCHINVAR CHARM (1) and SPUN SILVER (3) both have claims from their good draw.

EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 3,6

SELECTIONS: WICKED WIZARD (12), PRINCESS ARNA (13), ARRAPS (5), BYRNESIDE BOOM (9)

RATINGS: 12,13/ 5,9/ 1,3/ 7

SUGGESTED BET: WICKED WIZARD (12) to win

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: TRIPLE ROCK SAINT (6) has had a lot of chances but he was very unlucky at Bendigo on Wednesday night, where he was held up badly for a run before steaming along the sprint lane for third. This is a race of similar standard and he is worth thought again. THEROCKGOD (3) was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off fast when an eye-catching fifth at Shepparton last week. He hasn’t had much luck recently and is worth a ticket each way. SCHEMING (9) is a speedy mare and gets into this race with a concession claim so she is not without a chance. VICTORTHEINFLICTOR (2) returns to trainer Mark Lee after a stint in New South Wales and has the class to test this field when he is at his peak.

EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely early leader), 4,5

SELECTIONS: TRIPLE ROCK SAINT (6), THEROCKGOD (3), SCHEMING (9), VICTORTHEINFLICTOR (2)

RATINGS: 6/ 3,9/ 2/ 4,5,8/ 1

SUGGESTED BET: TRIPLE ROCK SAINT (6) each way

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: VICI BLOOM (3) is resuming since a fourth at Kilmore in April. She joins trainer Lisa Pitt and was very impressive at a recent Bendigo trial victory so she must be respected. DOSSIER (4) struck trouble and lost her chance when seventh last outing. She was placed at her previous four attempts against strong opposition and was beaten narrowly behind Maximez on October 31 so she looms as one of the leading chances. PRETTYBOY HARRY (2) settled in a rearward position and finished off strongly for third at Bendigo last outing. He should be getting fitter after having two starts back from a spell and warrants respect. WATCH AND ACT (8) is awkwardly drawn but he is usually competitive against this class and should be hitting the line strongly.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 1,4,6

SELECTIONS: VICI BLOOM (3), DOSSIER (4), PRETTYBOY HARRY (2), WATCH AND ACT (8)

RATINGS: 3,4/ 2/ 1,5,7,8

SUGGESTED BET: VICI BLOOM (3) to win

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: SIARGAO ISLAND (3) is a promising maiden and gets his chance to break through for a win. He worked hard in the run and was narrowly beaten in a slick mile rate of 1.56.2 at Kilmore two starts ago then followed with another strong second behind Banjo Star. THE GOLDEN HOOK (5) was expertly driven to find the back of the leader from barrier three and appeared to have his chance when second at Shepparton last week. His overall form has been very consistent and he looms as one of the leading chances again. LA SMOOCH (2) struck trouble at the start and never recovered when unplaced at Shepparton last week. He is better than his form reads and gets his chance to improve here. CAMERINA (1) and TARZINA (7) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.

EARLY SPEED: 3 (likely leader), 2,5

SELECTIONS: SIARGAO ISLAND (3), THE GOLDEN HOOK (5), LA SMOOCH (2), CAMERINA (1)

RATINGS: 3/ 5/ 2/ 1,7

SUGGESTED BET: SIARGAO ISLAND (3) to win

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: MY MATE LENNY (2) began fast to lead then took cover at the 1600m but broke stride and dropped out to last when fifth ($3-60) on debut. He was spelled after that performance and finished fourth at a recent Shepparton trial effort so he must be respected. GOODTIME KENZI (1) has galloped at her two starts to date but she did record handy time at a recent Bacchus Marsh trial victory so she has the ability to give a bold showing if she delivers a fool proof display. SOME DAYS WE DREAM (6) competed in the Nutrien Classic three starts ago and met a harder field when sixth last week so she is a possible improver. SPIRITED GIGI (3) is a first starter for trainer Neville Pangrazio, which has been unplaced in several recent trial efforts but must be kept safe.

EARLY SPEED: 2 (likely leader), 4

SELECTIONS: MY MATE LENNY (2), GOODTIME KENZI (1), SOME DAYS WE DREAM (6), SPIRITED GIGI (3)

RATINGS: 2/ 1/ 6/ 3,5/ 4,7

SUGGESTED BET: MY MATE LENNY (2) to win
