Nswhrc at Tabcorp Pk Menangle, Saturday 15 November

Form Analysis by RACING AND SPORTS

A wide barrier doesn’t look enough to stop classy mare Lux Aeterna from adding another Menangle win to her record in Saturday night’s Sue Kelly Ladyship Stakes.

Race 1: BE HAPPY MACH @ WINGATE FARM PACE

NYACK (11) hasn't raced since he placed in stronger company here in September but goes very well fresh with three wins from five attempts. Draws wide but was readied with a trial win and owns a good record at this distance. BEACH BALL (10) has been a bit disappointing at his last couple but there was merit in his first two efforts back after a spell. Draws wide but is race fit and is well up to winning this with his A-game. DONEGAL LUTHER (6) broke new ground when scoring over this distance for the first time last week. Draws wider but has won five of his last 10 here. OUR VINCENT CAN GOGH (4) was midfield last week but had looked close to a win when runner-up at his previous three outings and draws well.

Race 2: BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE

HELLUVA (8) added to his consistent form when fourth at Listed level last start and will enjoy the class drop. Draws deeper but came from wider still when he worked but fought on to place here prior. This looks a winnable assignment. MIKIBEQUICK (3) overcame a wide draw for a fighting win last time, his third success from his last four outings at this circuit. Tries this distance for the first time and steps up in grade but that is offset by the better draw. DOUBLE FEAR (4) has been close to the placings in his last two outings here, the latest from this barrier. Go well again. FRANCO TYSON (6) draws a few spots lower than he did last week and is a player off the win here prior. LOYALIST (9) hinted at a return to form when runner-up from this barrier here on Monday and owns a decent record at this longer distance.

Race 3: MENANGLE PARK COMMUNITY PACE

MYNAMESEVAN (7) hasn't missed a place since switching from Queensland. Raced parked and dug deep to return to the winners' list two back at Goulburn and was good here last week, leading from a similar barrier and sticking on to go under by less than 2m. That gave him a win and a placing from two tries at the distance. Top chance. HES A MEISTER (3) has been racing well from wider barriers, winning the Nick Robin Final over this distance two back and finishing fourth over further last week. Should get his chance from this draw. ITZMINEONTHELINE (2) draws well and returns to the city in good form with a win and two seconds from his last three starts at Bathurst. ISLA ROCHELLE (10) draws wide and jumps in grade but has impressed in winning her two starts at Wagga since joining Brad Hewitt. RAGING SEA (1) can be competitive after a solid effort from this draw last week.

Race 4: AINSWORTH GAME TECHNOLOGY PACE

Hard to knock the consistency of OUR GEORGE BOSTON (11) who draws wide again but was good from a similar draw last week, making it back-to-back seconds over the mile at this circuit. Came from the back row to win the West Wyalong Cup over 2540m prior so the step up in distance should suit. FORCE FULL (8) has close to 4m to make up on Our George Boston through last week's clash but he does draw a few spots lower than that rival. Placed twice in a row prior including the Breeders Challenge 4EG Final and he is proven over this longer distance here. NEW YORKER (6) hasn't missed the top-four in three Victorian starts since a spell including a 1.5m second at Melton two back. Should be at peak fitness now and has won here before. TENACIOUSLY (5) lost the driver last start but could measure up off her form through the Breeders Challenge series.

Race 5: CLUB MENANGLE SUE KELLY LADYSHIP STAKES (LISTED CLASSIC)

LUX AETERNA (11) has shown her class in winning two of her last three starts at this circuit and distance, the latest when beating a fellow Group 1 winner in the Breeders Challenge 4M Final. Draws wide but came from a similar barrier for a Listed win here last month and has the class edge on this field. PANDAIA (10) led and faded last time but was beaten only 1.4m into third when resuming here prior. Draws out but is better off back against her own sex and is proven third up. SHEZ SWEET LOUISE (4) draws lower than last time and did get within a head of Lux Aeterna at Listed level last month. SHEZ THE REASON (8) draws wide but hasn't been too far away of late so is worth including along with ALFNALMA (5) who jumps in grade but is racing consistently.

Race 6: FARMER JOES WHOLESALE PACE

CATCHAFIRE (9) will have to overcome a wide draw to continue his strong form but is hard to knock having added to his series of top-two finishes since a spell by winning at this circuit and distance last time. Race fit and going well enough to win from out there. BUSINESS IN HEAVEN (5) hasn't been far away from wider draws in his last two outings here, placing last week. Only 2.2m away over this distance prior. Could take advantage of the lower draw to break through. SET UP (10) is much better than what he showed last start and was an easy Penrith winner prior. Draws wide but his form through the Breeders Challenge series here was good enough to see him competitive. LOYAL LOU (1) was an impressive winner by 15m at Bathurst when making his Australian debut on Wednesday. Backs up and jumps quickly in grade but gets the ace draw and has plenty of upside. CYNICAL (2) is another stepping up in class but she is progressing strongly with back-to-back wins here and draws well.

Race 7: SUCCESS STUD EQUINE BREEDING TROTTERS MOBILE

PESCO POLLO (5) continued his strong form when he led from a similar draw and stuck on to score by 2.5m at this circuit last time, giving him five wins and a second in his last six starts. Drops to a distance where the record is strong so can deliver again. SHEETWEB WEAVER (8) was back in winning form when coming from a 10m handicap to score here last week. His best recent results have come at the standing start but he is still good enough to make an impact behind the mobile. SPEEDY LOVER (9) has been racing well since a win here last month including two close-up efforts from similar draws to this. Go well again. JUNGLE EYES (6) has close to 5m to make up on Pesco Pollo through the last-start fourth but he draws a couple of spots lower and won his previous two outings here, one at Listed level. COURAGE STRIDE (7) could be close to a win after placing in his last three outings.

Race 8: WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP PACE

SCARED STIFF (2) powered back into winning form when coming from wider to get home by 2m at Wagga last start. Proven at this circuit and distance and should get his chance from the low draw. MAURLEN BOY (6) has been ticking along quite well., finishing midfield form this barrier last week but placing in three of his previous four outings here. Finds a suitable assignment. SIREN SEA (3) got it wrong at the start last time but can be competitive from this draw with manners. METALLICA MAN (1) was at the tail of the field when resuming in stronger grade at Newcastle but was only 6m off the winner. Has won second-up before and is aided by the ace draw.

BEST BETS:

Race 2 #8 Helluva – Good at Listed level last start and looks nicely placed.

Race 8 #2 Scared Stiff – Back in winning form and should get every chance from this draw.
