Form Analysis by Craig Rail
Race 1:
OVERVIEW: SPIRITED LASS (5) has gait issues but is a handy trotter when she is able to put it altogether and should prove hard to beat if she delivers a fool proof display. She produced a super effort after galloping away when she circled around the field to score at a recent Melton trial success. TE AMO (10) commenced from the inside of the second line, circled around the field to park without cover and fought on strongly for second at Melton last outing. He was a winner at Kilmore when resuming and he looms as one of the leading chances again. SHEZALOVER (2) is resuming since an unplaced effort in a heat of the Nutrien Classic in September. She is drawn to go well first up. SILENT REVERIE (4) and MAJESTIC CHARMA (9) are both worth thought in multiple combinations.
EARLY SPEED: 4 (possible leader), 2
SELECTIONS: SPIRITED LASS (5), TE AMO (10), SHEZALOVER (2), SILENT REVERIE (4)
RATINGS: 5/ 2,10/ 4/ 9
SUGGESTED BET: SPIRITED LASS (5) to win
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: SPEEDY HEALEY (1) was caught wide early and drifted back to last before having little room in the straight when an unlucky seventh at Melton last outing. He is racing better than his form reads and should go well from the pole position. MAYWYNS JEWEL (8) was confidently supported and gave a bold showing in the leading role when a close second behind the in-form pacer Lilstrepo at St Arnaud. She does tend to perform best when she is able to lead but she appears to be well placed against this line up. TOPHUT JOHNY (4) is a good beginner and is never far away against this class. He endured a tough run when fifth at St Arnaud last outing. OUR TRUE COLOURS (7) is widely drawn but will appreciate a slight drop back in class for this assignment and is not without a chance.
EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 4
SELECTIONS: SPEEDY HEALEY (1), MAYWYNS JEWEL (8), TOPHUT JOHNY (4), OUR TRUE COLOURS (7)
RATINGS: 1,8/ 4,7/ 5/ 2
SUGGESTED BET: SPEEDY HEALEY (1) each way
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: NETRA (2) settled on the markers and was held up for a run in the home straight, finishing hard on the back of the winner Keayang Santiago when second at Melton last week. She is a speedy mare and should be reaching her peak after having two runs back from a break. WILD CARD (13) performed well at a Melton trial prior to a strong third in the same race won by Keayang Santiago at Melton last week. He is a tough type and is capable of overcoming the draw. MONTANA PRIDE (12) is racing consistently having been placed at his past four attempts and he should be hitting the line strongly. METRO MEMORY (10) is stepping up in class but finished off best to win in a career best mile of 1.56.4 last outing and should be competitive again. OLIVIA ROSE (4), INDI PARTY MOOD (6) and OLLIES MEDAL (7) all have claims in an open betting event.
EARLY SPEED: 7 (possible leader), 3,6
SELECTIONS: NETRA (2), WILD CARD (13), MONTANA PRIDE (12), METRO MEMORY (10)
RATINGS: 2/ 12,13/ 10/ 4,6,7
SUGGESTED BET: NETRA (2) each way
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: LOCHINVAR CHARM (9) has performed extremely well at his past two attempts and is nearing a win against this class. He finished off nicely from off the speed behind Interpretation then did some work in the run at his latest second behind Rocket Me. MIKI MARK (11) has been hitting the line strongly at his most recent attempts and put in a very good effort when second behind Spun Silver last outing. He is likely to settle in the second half of the field but should be finishing off strongly. The Ross Graham trained pair DOT BALL (6) and TEX GOES BANG (8) both are capable of showing up prominently against this class. ALLHEARTNOHEIGHT (1) should also be competitive from the pole position.
EARLY SPEED: 1 (likely leader), 6,7
SELECTIONS: LOCHINVAR CHARM (9), MIKI MARK (11), DOT BALL (6), TEX GOES BANG (8)
RATINGS: 9,11/ 6,8/ 1/ FIELD
SUGGESTED BET: LOCHINVAR CHARM (9) each way
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: ROMEO (7) is clearly the horse to beat against this line up. He was placed in a heat of the Nutrien Classic when on debut and his latest second was behind the handy performer River Storm in a slick mile rate of 1.56.2. TARZINA (2) is a nicely bred debutante for trainer David Miles, which has performed consistently in four recent trial performances and is worth a place ticket. ELIZAJANE (4) pushed forward to find the lead and was run down on the line at her first run for trainer Tasmyn Potter. She should be prominent throughout from her good draw. NORMANS GIRL (5) finished off fairly well at her first run since coming from Tasmania and FIREUPP (6) showed enough ability first up to be worth thought in multiple combinations.
EARLY SPEED: 7 (likely leader), 2,4
SELECTIONS: ROMEO (7), TARZINA (2), ELIZAJANE (4), NORMANS GIRL (5)
RATINGS: 7/ 2,4/ 5/ 6,11/ 10
SUGGESTED BET: ROMEO (7) to win
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: ADELAIDE RED (7) was runner up in the Australian Gold Final earlier in the season so she appears to be well placed against this line up. She attempted to lead throughout and was beaten on the line by Leo Galleon at her latest second. FRIKSHYN (10) appeared to have his chance when second behind Walkin Understarz last outing but he was only beaten by a narrow margin and is capable of going one better under these conditions. MI BOW (3) was forced to race without cover and battled on well for third in the same race as FRIKSHYN (10) at Bendigo. She should continue to benefit from experience and is drawn to go well. SEBS GAL (2) is a first starter for trainer Wayne Potter, which won at his latest Shepparton trial performance and must be kept safe.
EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible early leader), 7
SELECTIONS: ADELAIDE RED (7), FRIKSHYN (10), MI BOW (3), SEBS GAL (2)
RATINGS: 7,10/ 3/ 2/ 4,8
SUGGESTED BET: ADELAIDE RED (7) to win
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: RAZOR HORIZON (6) is a talented colt, which won over Fiction File at Shepparton on September 16. He finished seventh in a heat of the Super Series last outing but he settled in the second half of the field and the final half was run in a sizzling 55.0 seconds so his effort was sound. This race appears to be more suitable and he must be rated highly. PISTOL PEARCE (5) is resuming since a fourth at Melton in August. He was unplaced at a recent Melton trial performance but he has the ability to be competitive against this line up. ROCKNLENA (9) has been placed in six of her seven starts to date and led throughout at a Kilmore victory on October 23. She should gain an economical run from her trailing draw and is one of the leading chances again. MASTER MIKI (10) led out then took cover when he got up to win at Shepparton last outing. This race is a little harder but he is worth thought again.
EARLY SPEED: 1 (possible leader), 5,6
SELECTIONS: RAZOR HORIZON (6), PISTOL PEARCE (5), ROCKNLENA (9), MASTER MIKI (10)
RATINGS: 6/ 5,9/ 10/ 1
SUGGESTED BET: RAZOR HORIZON (6) to win
Race 8:
OVERVIEW: BULLDOG KHAN (4) performs best when he can find the front over the sprint distance so he has the conditions to suit him here. He commenced from the inside of the second line and had no luck behind the smart pacer Golden Tribe at his latest Melton appearance. EMILY VINCENT (9) is working up to another win and battled on bravely for second behind Twisting By in a slick mile rate of 1.53.8 at her latest second. She drops back to the second line now but she is versatile and should give a bold showing. CRIME WRITER (7) has been below his best form for some time but he is dropping back into a more winnable grade and has the speed to figure in the finish. GALAXY LASS (2) finished second behind Viney after trailing the leader throughout last outing and is drawn to be in the same position so she cannot be left out of calculations.
EARLY SPEED: 4 (likely leader), 2,5,6
SELECTIONS: BULLDOG KHAN (4), EMILY VINCENT (9), CRIME WRITER (7), GALAXY LASS (2)
RATINGS: 4,9/ 2,7/ 5,8,10
SUGGESTED BET: BULLDOG KHAN (4) each way
Race 9:
OVERVIEW: LET IT BE ME (5) just battled over the concluding stages when resuming but he did commence from the handicap of 30m and he switches to the mobile start now. He won on debut and was placed in a heat of the Super Series during his first season of racing so he is capable of being competitive at this level. FAITH FULL (10) came out three horses wide from midfield and was close to the lead on the home turn when she broke stride and lost her chance at Bendigo on Wednesday. She didn’t really seem to be travelling like a winner at the time she galloped but her overall form has been fantastic this season and she is worth another chance. TOUGH MATE (2) is still learning but he should go well if he delivers a fool proof display. He pushed forward to race without cover and battled on strongly for second at Kilmore last time out. CHARLESTON AVENUE (1), SCAR (3) and THAT’S MY CARDIGAN (6) all are worth thought in an open race to end the program.
EARLY SPEED: 5 (possible leader), 1,3
SELECTIONS: LET IT BE ME (5), FAITH FULL (10), TOUGH MATE (2), CHARLESTON AVENUE (1)
RATINGS: 5/ 2,10/ 1/ 3,6
SUGGESTED BET: LET IT BE ME (5) each way
