Form Analysis by Darren Clayton
RACE ONE
A mixed age contest where the 2YO WICKED ARK (1) secures the early advantage from the gate. Sent out as the fav at his last appearance at the end of August on the Redcliffe triangle, he was game in defeat after sitting parked from gate 6. A strong finishing 3rd in the Triad Consolation the start prior puts him right in the frame here.
OPALLANE (4) returns from a spell after his last appearance in the heats of the 2YO Triad series. Striking trouble and throwing away any chance in that race, the start prior he was chasing the ultra-smart FIRE AND PASSION. With no public trial, he may just be in need of the outing.
PISCINA (2) grabbed the bronze, albeit a long way from the winner SHES ALLABOUTLUV last time out at Redcliffe. With the early option to drop to the markers, he is a place hope.
SELECTIONS: WICKED ARK (1), OPALLANE (4), PISCINA (2)
SUGGESTED BET:
RACE TWO
CROOKWELL EYES (8) will find the conditions on offer here easier than recent attempts where he has been against the stronger Tuesday company. From 10m last start he was buried in the run when chasing home DAIMYO which followed a 3rd to GOOD HEART. This looks ideal.
MAROON BELLS (3) was sent to the post as fav last time out and after being a little scratch off the mark, was able to find the front and try to take them all the way. Unable to see them off, it followed a close 2nd and from the front tape, will be looking to grip on.
CASCATA (6) was strong to the line last start after settling back in the pack, grabbing the silver when 4m astern of the winner. Settling closer will assist her chances in this.
GAIT WITH GRACE (7) has chased home the in-form MILLY EN EYRE at her past three starts, her best effort a 3rd when 3m away along the passing lane. She is a place chance again here.
SELECTIONS: CROOKWELL EYES (8), MAROON BELLS (3), CASCATA (6), GAIT WITH GRACE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CROOKWELL EYES (8) to win
RACE THREE
A last start winner when rolling forward to sit parked, GOTTA DREAM (6) was too strong for his opponents and pulled clear to post a 12m margin. Building to that win after finishing runner-up in successive events, he can force the issue to stake claim.
HEAVENLY WISDOM (9) is never too far from them in this grade and in a slightly stronger line up last start was searching for gaps after being buried from an inside second line gate. Working to the front and holding on for the silver four back, she can trail through to challenge.
IDEAL TIGER (5) settled rearward from an outside second line gate here two starts back and was the best of the chasers behind GOTTA DREAM. Grabbing 3rd last start, he is a podium hope.
ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (7) is afforded no favours from this gate but has been faced with the same alley at her past two which included a gritty 2nd last time out. She can grind it out again.
SELECTIONS: GOTTA DREAM (6), HEAVENLY WISDOM (9), IDEAL TIGER (5), ALWAYS BE A TORQUE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GOTTA DREAM (6) to win
RACE FOUR
The right set up might have finally presented for the veteran OYSTER STRIDE (1) to grab another victory. Setting the tempo from this gate over this trip last start, he was collared in the latter stages to miss the money when 7m from the winner. With limited pressure, he can see them off.
ROYAL PRINCESS (2) has good speed off the arm and can look to fire some early bullets. Unplaced in five runs back from a spell, this looks an open contest and positioning cheaply can see her throw down the challenge.
KONNYMARA (6) was a winner over the mile three runs back when sent forward to take control and fend them off. Fading after a tough trip at the next start, he can be chiming in here.
CANDYKANE (7) is given no favours from the car park but was working home in good order last start from this same gate to grab the bronze. A similar effort can produce another minor.
SELECTIONS: OYSTER STRIDE (1), ROYAL PRINCESS (2), KONNYMARA (6), CANDYKANE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OYSTER STRIDE (1) to win
RACE FIVE
Starting from inside the second line at Redcliffe last time out, ROSARITO (8) was shuffled back in the run. Sticking to the inside and taking the shortest way home, he arrived in the closing stages. Tucked away behind the speed, his conversion rate on this deck is the query.
SPORTS BOUNTY (1) was heavily supported here three starts back from outside the second line but had to settle for the silver when finishing a half-head from the winner. Finishing at the rear at his next outing, he finds the gate to throw down the challenge.
CRIME TIME (10) has placed at his past four in succession, the latest from the pocket trail at Redcliffe when 6m astern of the winner TRACER BULLETT. He can be working home to feature.
MAJOR TRALEE (5) worked hard in the early stages from outside the front line to find the front and then hold on for 3rd last start at Redcliffe. He can be thereabouts again here.
SELECTIONS: ROSARITO (8), SPORTS BOUNTY (1), CRIME TIME (10), MAJOR TRALEE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ROSARITO (8) win/place
RACE SIX
Left exposed in the early stages last time out, CREDULOUS (1) eased for position and was then buried four back along the poles. Finding late space to grab 3rd when 3m from the winner, she has been in consistent form and has all the options to capitalise.
CHEZZ DALE (9) has been a model of consistency since arriving in Qld, hitting the board in nine of 13. Sent forward from gate 6 to control last start at the mile, he kept them rolling and held on for a 2m margin. Placed in both prior outings, the second line makes it a tougher task.
COTE DAZUR (4) was sent out as the fav last time out at Redcliffe when forced to work hard in the breeze before fading late. Positioning cheaply will be key to his chances.
GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (8) will be further tightened following his latest appearance when third up off a spell for the new stable. With an economical trip, he can chime in.
SELECTIONS: CREDULOUS (1), CHEZZ DALE (9), COTE DAZUR (4), GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-8-9
RACE SEVEN
Chasing a hat-trick of victories after successive wins at the 2138m trip, LITTLE SURFER GIRL (8) will be needing some factors in her favour from this gate as she looks at risk of being buried in the run. Finding the gap from the pocket trail to dart through last start, she just needs the gaps.
MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (10) has been in consistent form since switching barns and returns here following a NSW trip which finished with a Tamworth win last time out from a second line gate, Building to that after finishing runner-up in three successive outings, he can throw it down.
YANKEE C J (6) was snagged off the gate to settle rearward last start and never warmed up over the latter stages. A winner from gate 10 three back, he can be joining in here.
TACTICAL ILLUSION (4) was too far back last start when trying to make ground over the 2138 and was never a factor. A winner at the mile here four starts back, she can be thereabouts.
SELECTIONS: LITTLE SURFER GIRL (8), MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (10), YANKEE C J (6), TACTICAL ILLUSION (4)
SUGGESTED BET:
RACE EIGHT
Building towards another victory after placing at his past three in succession, BAIL DENIED (1) secures the gate and options to capitalise. Chasing home for the bronze last start over the 2138 from outside the second line, the gate gives him every chance in this.
ROCKAWAY BEACH (8) is first up for the Grimsey stable and will be sweating on holding the leader’s back position. Down the line at Melton, in his last race start, he had placed his previous three in succession and with he right trip can make an impact first up.
BEYOND DOUBT (9) is still chasing his first victory here at HQ after placing in five of six appearances. Only a head away from victory last start after a tough trip, he can feature again.
SIR RICHARD LEE (5) is the query runner, lining up for the Turpin stable for the first time following a barn switch. Winless since February 2024, he is a 15-time winner and 1.53.1 winner on this deck.
SELECTIONS: BAIL DENIED (1), ROCKAWAY BEACH (8), BEYOND DOUBT (9), SIR RICHARD LEE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BAIL DENIED (1) to win
