The Albion Park Harness Racing Club has launched a new Leap To Fame Text Line in response to an overwhelming volume of calls from people wanting to see the champion horse during the 2026 Ladbrokes Inter Dominion Carnival in Brisbane.
Affectionately known as ‘Larry’, Leap To Fame is on track to being recognised as harness racing’s greatest of all time, boasting 70 wins from 89 starts, including Inter Dominion Pacing Championships in 2023 and 2025. He has missed a minor placing just twice.
Fans can now text ‘LARRY’ to 0480 80 LEAP (0480 805 327) and the champion pacer will respond with instructions on the easiest way to book tickets to see him in action when the Ladbrokes Inter Dominion kicks off at The Creek on July 4.
“With less than two weeks until the Ladbrokes Inter Dominion Carnival gets underway, our staff are struggling to keep up with the volume of calls from people wanting to know how they can come and see Larry,” The Creek CEO Jim Waddell said.
“The Text Line seemed like a fun and easy way to help people secure their tickets for what is shaping to be a history-making series.”
Heats for Australasian harness racing’s most prestigious carnival are set down for July 4 and 11, with a bumper Grand Finals night on July 18.
General admission tickets start from just $10 with premium hospitality packages available across both heats and Grand Finals night.
Every ticket purchased via the Inter Dominion website includes an entry into the draw to win a Fatboy E-Bike, or two tickets to the New Zealand Trotting Cup, plus a $1,000 travel voucher.
Should Leap To Fame win a third championship, he would become just the fourth horse in the Inter Dominion’s 90-year history to win three Pacing Championships. Fellow Queensland icon Blacks A Fake won the title a remarkable four times.
Albion Park Harness Racing Club Chairman Greg Mitchell said the magnitude of Leap To Fame’s achievements to date should not be underestimated.
“Winx and Black Caviar were recent examples of thoroughbreds that transcended racing to become household names; Leap To Fame is on a similar trajectory,” Mr Mitchell said.
Queenslanders are leading the pack in harness racing right now. Locally trained horse The Janitor is considered the main threat to Larry’s title defence and his stablemate, Gus, is a clear favourite to take out the trotting title.
The Creek is Brisbane’s home of harness racing and hosts more than 150 race meetings per year. Memberships start from just $25.
