The Tasbred Two Year Olds will be out for one of their last public appearances ahead of next month’s Group 3 Woodlands Stud Dandy Patch Heats (2090m), and Evicus Prelude (1609m) in Hobart on Friday night.
Safely completing the course will be all the runners have to do in the Dandy Patch heats to secure their spot in the Final on 1 November, following two early scratchings.
The Christian Salter-trained Likeyouforareason will be chasing his second career win at start three when he lines up in the first heat.
The For A Reason colt won on debut in Launceston on 14 September in 1:57.0s, and then finished second to Bridwood Maisey in the Wayne Rattray on 5 October.
“He seems to be a nice horse. What you see is what you get,” said trainer Christian Salter.
“The good thing about his first run was that he worked on his own and had only been with other horses four or five times before that race, and it was good to see him settle like he did. Admittedly, they went quickly, and he did a good job.”
Salter drove the pacer on debut, before Mark Yole, who will drive on Friday, jumped aboard last start.
“I was equally as pleased with him last start. They ran a quick last half, and for him to have a crack like he did, I was pleased.”
The pacer has drawn barrier five of six for Friday’s assignment, which is the first race for two-year-olds over 2090m this season.
“It’s a good race, Barber Shop is pretty good, I think, who has had a few hard runs in the Sweepstakes, and Qualify has been going well and will get a soft sit from the pole.”
The meeting also features a Prelude of the Evicus, where the four runners will be first selected for the final.
Friday’s program is set to commence at 17:19.
