WA buyers are blessed with a treasure trove of quality bloodlines in the 2025 APG Perth Yearling Sale. Here, we look at some of the youngsters offered by solo venders in the early part of the sale.
Lot 324 (Vendor - Jemross Racing Trust)
This filly is bred to fly and has enormous residual value as a broodmare. She must attract spirited bidding from serious harness racing owners looking for a future classic winner.
She is regally bred, by boom sire Always B Miki from WA 2YO and 3YO filly of the year Double Expresso (1.55.4, $328K), who won seven races in her juvenile year, including the G1 APG Sales Classic and the G1 Wesbred fillies final.
Double Expresso a half sister to star pacer and now sire Shockwave (1.53.4, $567K), who was runner-up in the APG Classic and the colts Westbred final as a 2YO.
The handsome son of Mach Three had a massive 4YO season, winning the Group 1 Golden Nugget, the WA 4&5YO Championship and several open class features – including the G2 James Brennan Memorial.
Double Expresso is in the first wave of Sweet Lou mares to go to stud in Australia.
Sweet Lou daughters have produced three foals of racing age. My Ultimate Barney (1.52.1, $79K) is his first winner. He notched six wins as a 2YO in 2024.
Always B Miki has already produced some outstanding fillies, including Group 1 winners Aardies Express (1.48.9, $466K) and Taking The Miki (1.54, $382K).

Taking The Miki won the APG 2YO Gold Bullion final and was runner-up in two Group 1 features as a 2YO.
She won the Oaks and was placed in the 2022 WA Derby against the colts. She went on to win several Group and Listed races as a 4YO and was exported to the US last season.
This is also the family of NSW Pink Bonnet runner-up Shez Sugarsweet (1.52.1, $217K), who has gone on to win 14 races on US tracks.
This filly is from Raging Bull’s first Australian crop. He is the sire of WA Pacing Cup winner Wildwest (1.52.8, $619K) from about 20 pacers to race in Australia.
The filly is the same cross – Raging Bull over a Bettors Delight mare – as exciting gelding Raging Whitebait (1.55.2, $107K) who was unbeaten in four Australian starts in 2024.
Raging Bull’s dam San Sophia is a full sister to 1998 US 3YO filly of the year Galleria, who won $1.8 million in a glittering career on American tracks.
Lot 329 (Vendor – Corey Peterson)
This colt, by Fly Like An Eagle from NZ mare The Achiever, will have admirers due to the feats of his dam’s half brother Minstrel (1.53.2, $1.4M), who had a blistering 2024 season.
Minstrel won the $450,000 WA Pacing Cup in November and was runner-up to Don Hugo in the Interdominion final at Menangle in December, taking his earnings for the season to $675,000.
