The countdown is on to the 2025 Nutrien Equine Tasmanian Harness Yearling Sale, with 30 lots in this year’s catalogue.

The sale, to be held on 1 March at Quercus Park, Carrick, from 15:00, is becoming more popular each year. The number of lots has increased since the 2024 sale, when 24 lots went under the hammer.

Successful sales graduates such as Mickey Oh, Iden Lady Lincoln, Vincenzo, and Carmen Emjay are terrific examples of the quality that the Tasmanian sale produces.

The Tasbred Bonus Scheme provides an extra incentive to invest at the sale, where the horses’ first win qualifies for a $10,000 bonus ($6,000 for the owner and $4,000 for the breeder). An additional $5,000 is awarded to the owner if that first win occurs during the horse’s two-year-old season.

The Sires’ Stakes Series also offers outstanding prize money and is restricted to Tasbred-only horses:

  • $60,000 Granny Smith (4YO Tasbred Mares)
  • $60,000 Raider Stakes (4YO Tasbred Entires & Geldings)
  • $60,000 Globe Derby (3YO Tasbred Colts & Geldings)
  • $60,000 Bandbox (3YO Tasbred Fillies)
  • $60,000 Evicus (2YO Tasbred Fillies)
  • $60,000 Dandy Patch (2YO Tasbred Colts & Geldings)

29 of the 30 lots this year are Tasbred eligible. The catalogue can be accessed here, and the sale will be streamed via the Tasracing website on Tasracing Live.
