The Locomotive may start an odds-on favourite for the $150,000 TAB Inter Dominion Trotters Final after drawing gate four for next week’s showdown at Club Menangle.

The star mare expected to be his major hurdle, Queen Elida, draw right beside him in gate five, ensuring the final should be a real battle of tactics between two champion reinsmen, Brad Hewitt (The Locomotive) and Chris Alford (Queen Elida).

The other square-gaiter running into form at the right end of the series, Keayang Chucky, is also right in the hunt after drawing gate three, while surprise winner of the final heat, Parisian Artiste drew gate 12 and will again have to be driven for luck from the second row.

The final draw for the final of the trotters’ series is:

1.          Toro Stride

2.          Aldebaran Vera

3.          Keayang Chucky

4.          The Locomotive

5.          Queen Elida

6.          Mufasa Metro

7.          Aldebaran Zeuss

8.          Speedy Lover (ODM)

9.          Keayang Stuka

10.        Royal Dan

11.        Plymouth Chubb

12.        Parisian Artiste.
