IT is less than two years since Aussie young gun Todd McCarthy headed to North American to try his luck.

Now it's home.

McCarthy's immediate and stunning success was capped recently when he won one of the mega races in the world, the North American Cup on Pebble Beach.

The win meant so much more because he shared it with friend and trainer Noel Daley, another former Aussie, who has been such a huge supporter of Todd and his brothers Luke and Andy.

"Noel's a great trainer and fantastic bloke and like part of the family to us," McCarthy said.

Adam Hamilton sat down with McCarthy to reflect on the biggest win of his career, his time in North America and what the future looks like,
