NSW: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Restrictions

Stay-at-Home Orders- Armidale LGA

From 5.00pm today until Midnight on Sunday 15 August2021, the NSW Government has introduced new restrictions in relation to the Armidale LGA.

Consequently, HRNSW advises the following:

  • Licensed participants who reside in the Armidale LGA are not permitted to attend any race meeting or trials;
  • Any person who resides in the Armidale LGA area who works at a harness racecourse is not permitted to attend;
  • Any licensed participant engaged at a race meeting who is required to travel through the Armidale LGA area must do so without stopping in this LGA area;
  • Licensed participants located within the Armidale LGA are able to attend to their horses within the LGA on animal welfare grounds, which includes the feeding and exercising of horses;


Any licensed participant who has been in the Armidale LGA area since July 31 2021 but does not reside in the area must return a negative COVID test result to HRNSW Stewards prior to attending any harness racing meeting or trials.

Participants are reminded of Australian Harness Racing Rule 238:

AHRR 238 – A person shall not fail to comply with any order, direction or requirement of the Controlling Body or the Stewards relating to harness racing or the harness racing industry.
