Inter-state Participants
Inter-state participants will no longer be required to complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine period before accessing licensed training and racing facilities in Queensland from this Friday.
In line with the Queensland Government’s border restrictions, inter-state participants will be permitted to access venues from midday on Friday, July 10, excluding Victorian participants or any participant who has entered Victoria in the past 14 days.
The updated protocols allow:
- Licensed inter-state participants, other than those who reside in or who have returned from Victoria in the last 14 days, to enter Queensland to participate in their licensed code and to access ‘Core Racing Areas’ at race clubs;
- Travel by road or commercial aircraft, however commercial air travel cannot occur on the day of the race meeting; and
- Standardbreds will be permitted to enter Queensland from Victoria for racing purposes in accordance with the strict transport protocols detailed in the COVID-19 protocols linked below.
Inter-state participants intending to travel to Queensland for racing purposes are requested to familiarise themselves with the COVID-19 protocols linked below.
Race Colors
Additionally, following the Queensland Governments move to stage 3 restrictions, the requirements for drivers to wear the same set of colors for all engagements at a race meeting will no longer apply. Thus, from this Friday's race meeting trainers and owners will be able to assign their colors to their horse. Participants are reminded of the need to ensure a high level of hygiene continues which includes washing silks following each race meeting.
Core Racing Area Access
Access to Core Racing Areas including on-course stabling remains restricted to Essential Raceday Personnel only. As such owners and children (unless licensed) are not permitted to access these areas. A further update on owner access to Patron areas at race meetings will be provided later in the week.
