Leap To Fame

EAP To Fame is drawn to extend his perfect Inter Dominion record despite a wide front row barrier in next Saturday night’s second round of heats.

The champ narrowly but emphatically won his first round over underrated former Tasmanian and now NSW-trained pacer Nyack at Albion Park last night.

It took his record to eight starts across three Inter Dominion series’ for as many wins through six heats and two finals.

Leap To Fame is $1.10 favourite to make that nine from gate six in the hardest of next Saturday’s three pacing heats. He should work forward and find the lead, like last night.

For the second time in as many heats, Leap To Fame will clash with fellow Queensland star The Janitor, who many consider a huge danger in the $1 million final on July 18.

The Janitor sat outside and ran fourth to Leap To Fame last night and has a very tricky inside back row (gate eight) draw next week.

The second heat is much stronger where the key watch runners for the final are Captains Knock (gate three), Speak The Truth (four) and Minos (11).

In the third heat, Jason Grimson’s exciting new stable addition Dangerous has the pole after an eye-catching run from an impossible position last night.

But Nyack, who pushed Leap To Fame last night, drops in grade and has the speed to lead from a suitable gate four this time.

The second round of trotting heats is all about comeback mare Susan Is Her Name and whether she can improve enough on a sound fifth on opening night to win a weaker heat and emerge as a genuine final player.

She has gate two on the second row next Saturday in a race where Lovemeto, who made a costly gallop when leading last night, should lead and be the main danger.

Gus should win again from gate four in the other trotting heat where defending champion Arcee Phoenix gets his chance from gate two.

Parisian Artiste (gate three), Rockinwithattitude (10) and Im Bobby (12) are the other major players.

Of course, Rising Sun winner Captains Mistress and Great Square hero Jilliby Dreamlover also have golden tickets into the pacing and trotting finals respectively.
