The refurbishment of Albion Park as part of the Queensland Government’s new masterplan and the strong performances of past sale graduates have given the 2026 Ladbrokes Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale a terrific boost.

The sale, which brought out the champion filly Cool And Classy, will be conducted by Nutrien Equine and hosted by the Albion Park Harness Racing Club on Sunday, February 22.

A total of 67 lots – 33 colts and 34 fillies - representing leading breeders from Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia are listed to go under the hammer. The sale includes seven trotting bred yearlings.

The catalogue features the stock of 27 individual sires including six of the top seven money-winning stallions in 2025 namely Sweet Lou, Art Major, Bettor’s Delight, Always B Miki, American Ideal and Captaintreacherous.

Stallions represented by their first Australian crop at the sale are the 2022 USA and Canadian 3YO Colt of the Year and North America Cup winner Pebble Beach, the 1:46.8 Captaintreacherous horse Catch The Fire and the 2021 USA 2YO Trotting Colt of the Year King Of The North.

The sale comprises progeny of the smart race mares including New York Fashion (NSW Breeders Challenge), the QBred Triad winners Cat King Cole and Jasper, the triple Vicbred champion Spidergirl, My Arya (2YO and 3YO Trotting Filly of the Year), Vista Bella (Vic. Youthful), Zara’s Delight (Redcliffe Oaks), Chevron’s Reward NZ, Divinia Bellezza NZ, Lombo Cloud Nine, Saint Kilda Beach and Reaza Grunter.

There’s brothers to the four-time Group 1 victor Expensive Ego and the Bathurst Gold Crown winner Tardelli, half-brothers to Talent To Spare (QBred Triad 3YO), More Sass (APG Gold Bullion 2YO), Corporal Luna (Seymour Nursery), Bettor Cullect (Redcliffe Sales Classic), the dual Vicbred champion Always Ready and Love Gun, a sister to Sally Fletcher ($497,482) and half-sisters to the Inter Dominion placegetter Speak The Truth, Victree Hill (Breeders Crown), Namaka (NSW Pink Bonnet), Chamonix, Tin Tin Jo, Sweet Agenda and Kincaslough.
