Harness racing driver Liam Older continued his good form in the sulky when landing a driving treble in Hobart on Sunday night.
Older had spent the previous few years in Victoria before returning to the state in May.
The first of his Sunday winners came with the Michael Laugher-trained Zara Tindall ($1.90 fav) in the Smithawards Pace (1609m).
Older had the five-year-old daughter of Vincent positioned behind the leader before using the sprint lane to score by 1.9m in 1:58.1s.
The win took the mare’s record to three wins from five starts since arriving in the state.
“She is a really nice horse, who has got a lot of high speed, and I was glad I could use that, as opposed to having to do a bit of work.
“If she keeps getting the right run, in the right races, she should keep winning,” said Older.
The next two winners for Older came for trainer Wayne Yole, including Yareckonimsweet ($9) in the Morey’s Tours Pace (1609m).
The mare settled four-back on the inside before weaving a passage into the clear over the final 300m to win in 1:56.8s.
“We got the right run.
“I was impressed the first time I drove her in Launceston, she went super, and has been crying out to get a bit of luck, and we got that.
“I expect she will be able to go back up through the grades,” Older said about the mare.
Former Victorian pacer My Way ($1.90 fav) had a lovely run in the one-one to win the Racing Connect Pace (1609m).
“He had a nice trip, and is another one that I have a bit of time for, he is a very fast horse, and I was very happy with him as he found the line a lot better than he has been, and he if he got the right trip once again in the same sort of race I don’t see why he can’t keep winning,” said the driver.
The pacer had been placed in his four previous efforts in the state.
