Harness racing Driver Hannah Van Dongen will be chasing wins across two venues in Tasmania on Sunday.

Van Dongen owns a thoroughbred that will be racing in Hobart on Sunday afternoon, before she turns her attention to the harness meeting in Launceston, where she has drives in seven of the nine races.

Of her drives, she will be out to continue her good association with the Wayne Yole-trained Kiavino Stride, who will contest the Lees Orchard Stakes (1680m).

The Somebeachsomewhere gelding who has won three of his last four, retired from the race in his other start, with Van Dongen in the sulky for those three wins.

“Despite his recent wins, he is still down in the ratings, and I expect him to be thereabouts again.

“He is a very tough horse, and the mile suits him, and from his draw, I have a few options on Sunday,” said the driver.

Van Dongen is looking forward to the return to the track of a horse she owns, Mikiyoursofine, who resumes off the back of a recent Carrick Park trial win on 23 August.

“He was good in his trial, it is an average draw on Sunday, but with luck I expect him to be there about.

Mikiyoursofine will carry Hannah’s purple and black colours, as will her galloper, Dynamic Deel, who is prepared by Barry Campbell, with the recent Devonport winner lining up in the sixth race in Hobart on Sunday afternoon.

“He was a very tough win first-up in Devonport, after having a few issues last time in, and if we don’t get much rain, he looks a top three or four chance again on Sunday,” the owner said.
