Trainers should be aware that the feed supplement MetaboLize has been linked to recent cases in Australia involving the detection of caffeine in a raceday sample. A photograph of this product is provided for your information.

Whilst the manufacturer has advised that the raw materials in MetaboLize do not contain caffeine, they are reviewing a possible contamination from a November 2024 production run. Certain batches have been identified to possibly contain levels of caffeine which will likely cause a positive sample and potential ramifications to a horse’s placing and sanctions being imposed against the trainer.
