We’re just one week out from the $50,000 Kookabrook Livestock Pinjarra Pacing Cup on March 3, the long weekend public holiday and the Pinjarra Trots are gearing up for a full day with plenty of action for the whole family.

With plenty on offer for the whole family, Racing WA in conjunction with Pinjarra Trots are proud announce the inclusion of the Female Drivers Invitational Race, celebrating the ongoing Team Teal campaign for 2025.

Team Teal kicked off on February 1 and will run through to March 15, with female drivers all over Australia raising funds and awareness for gynaecological cancers.

The annual Team Teal campaign which was created by co-founder Duncan McPherson OAM following the loss of his wife Lyn to ovarian cancer in 2010 has evolved into a six-week fundraising campaign that unites the harness racing community.

Since its inception, the Team Teal campaign has raised an incredibly $3,109,351 through the WomenCan foundation, and on Monday, March 3, Duncan McPherson OAM and WomenCan representatives will be on course at Pinjarra, emphasizing their support and dedication to the campaign.

In WA, reinswomen Maddison Brown, Jocelyn Young, Deni Roberts, Emily Suvaljko, Maddy Young, Sara Grout, Lauren Harper, Kylah Madden, Briana Edman and Abbey Vidovich will do their part to raise awareness and funds for gynaecological cancers in Australia.

Not only will eyes be on our reinswomen here in the west, but our junior female drivers of the Pinjarra Pony Trots will also don the teal driving pants in the two pony trot races on the day.

The Female Drivers Invitational Race on Pinjarra Cup Day is more than just a competitive event, it is a celebration of resilience and community, with each win on the track directly supporting life changing initiatives.

The STAWA Trotters Sprint features on the program, with the best of WA’s square gaiters going head-to-head over the 1684m mobile start sprint trip, with an $11,000 total stakes on offer.

Be sure to head down to Pinjarra Trots on Monday, March 3 for a day full of racing, live entertainment, pony trots and plenty for the kids including pony rides, animal farm and face painting, with free entry on the day.

Restaurant bookings are essential, to make a booking, contact the club on 9531 1941.
