King Of Swing had nothing left to prove when he signed off his stunning record breaking racetrack career and entered the breeding barn, come three years later ‘King’ has conquered his first sales ring just as he ruled the racetrack.

The three-time Group One Miracle Mile winner and two-time Group One Hunter Cup winner has a highly anticipated stallion career upon him after just finishing his third season at stud and serving his third full book of mares.

As the richest son of Rocknroll Hanover in the world, a noted sire of sires, King Of Swing has plenty of appeal for breeders. Throw in the fact that his dam, Twist And Twirl NZ, is not only a two-time Group One winner but also a NZ Pacing Broodmare of the Year.

Twist And Twirl NZ is a daughter of the all-conquering broodmare sire, Artsplace, making King Of Swings bloodline start to glitter like gold. Twist And Twirl NZ has also produced Bettor Twist, a seven-time Group One winner in her own right and 2021 NZ Pacer of the Year as well as the Group Three Redcliffe Derby winner and three-time Group One placegetter, Rocknroll Hammer, all bred by Breckon Farms in New Zealand.

King Of Swing's first yearling made its debut at the Melbourne Australian Pacing Gold Yearling Sale yesterday, and there was no doubt that the King Of Swing x Queen Of Pop Filly would attract plenty of attention.

Bred by Bill and Anne Anderson, the filly’s dam Queen of Pop is a proven producer with her oldest two foals having secured Group One wins - Just Hope ($367,000) took the Bathurst Gold Tiara, the NSW Oaks and Australian Gold Bullion, while Chart Topper ($132,000) lays claim to a Bathurst Gold Crown and the Listed Canola Cup.

Queen of Pop is out of $225,000 earning mare Top Tempo (In the Pocket), making her a sister to Speak No Evil ($354,000) and Musical Delight ($289,000), the dam of Ripp (GR1, $287,000) and Sure Thing Captain (GR2, $225,000).

From such a high-earning family and with only two generations on her pedigree page, this filly represents the pinnacle of potential for both the racetrack and a promising future in the breeding barn.

When the gavel fell at yesterday’s auction, the filly from the Group One-winning Art Major mare Queen Of Pop secured an impressive $82,500, topping the sale for the day.

Congratulations to vendors Lauriston Bloodstock and Llowalong Farms for preparing this outstanding filly and all the best to the new purchasers!
