Leo Wallrodt isn’t sure when the last time his family scored a training treble, or whether they ever have, but Sunday was a fairytale for the Wallrodt family with a treble at the final Collie meeting for 2024.

“It was really good, real nice, and obviously we’ve had a long run of where they’ve been going ordinary too, so it was good to get back to some form.”

Ti Sento has been a fantastic pick-up for the family, and with just four starts for the Wallrodt family, she has saluted twice, narrowly missing out on Collies Leading Club Pacer for 2024.

“She’s an absolute sweetheart, she does everything right, she goes clean, she doesn’t touch a knee boot, she doesn’t wear a head check, she gets out of the gate really quick, she’s just the perfect little horse.”

Wallrodt was approached by Bill Hayes and Michael Cornwall who offered the filly at a price he couldn’t refuse.

The Wallrodt family started the day with a win in the first and didn’t have too long to wait with Altair Star successful in race three at $51 odds.

Ashley Shepherd purchased the mare in January and Sundays win was her first for her new connections in 18 starts.

Shepherd drove his other horse Our Musical Motion, whilst Emily Suvaljko got the steer on Altair Star.

Keeping it in the family, Karen Wallrodt trained Chalky White for the win in race eight, with her son Cody Wallrodt in the card.

Apparently given the choice on who he drives, it was a winning choice for Wallrodt with the lightly raced aged horse bringing up his second win in 19 starts.

Chalky White gave Karen Wallrodt her first win for the season, but 85th career win overall.

Between the family, they’ve got eight horses in work and Wallrodt made mention that the stable had been struggling to find form of late, but their home track has been nothing but fruitful for their team, with 4 winners combined in the past 3 meetings.
