"JUST the usual races"...that's what is in store for Saturday night's Port Pirie Trotters' Cup winner, Uncle Louis.

With the feature doubling as the finale of South Australia's country cup circuit, trainer Mario Borg stated "there simply aren't any features to aim him at".

As such, Uncle Louis will continue to race against open company as each suitable option is programmed.

"I haven't got much picked out for him," Borg said. "There simply aren't any features to aim him at, so it is just the usual races for him.

"It's been a terrific country cup carnival over here and he's been solid all the way through.

"To have him come out on top in the final one though is a great result."

With Gaita Pullicino in the cart, Uncle Louis was sent forward from his 10-metre handicap to work outside the leader, Illawong Moonbeam.

Powering his way to the front leaving the back straight, the son of Majestic Son staved off a determined My Used To Be to score by a half-head, with Cyclone S Adam nine-and-a-half metres away third.

Rating 2:02.9 over 2530 metres, Uncle Louis broke a 13-month drought from the winners' circle.

"That was his fifth start for me and he has improved with each run," Borg said. "Regal Attire being scratched certainly helped, and once he was out, my confidence grew.

"He's beaten most of them home before, including his last couple of starts, so I couldn't see any reason he couldn't do it again."
