There are two eight-race cards in Tasmania this weekend, starting with Hobart on Friday night before Launceston on Sunday evening. Read the thoughts of premiership-leading driver Mark Yole.
Weekend best
Hobart Race 5 – 9. Remember Me Now
Going really well this big guy. I thought he was very brave last week when after trailing through okay I made a mid-race move as there was no pace in the race. That is not the best way to drive him as he is a better front runner or saved for one run. He battled on very well behind the in-form Jimi Sanz. This race appears to be a bit weaker. He again draws the second row but with a bit more luck in running, I think he will be right in the finish.

Launceston Race 2 – 8. Christian Major
I really like the draw here. He is a roughie, but I was looking for some value for followers.
He has drawn to sit behind the likely leader Carols Judge who is known to be one-paced. This guy is second-up from a break where he was solid in a handy field. If he gets that nice run and with other horses drawn on the front row who like to go forward, I just think he will give his followers a great sight.
Under the radar
Hobart Race 2 – 3. Rock on Playboy
Two handy performances has me eager to get behind this seasoned veteran. He worked mid-race two starts ago and boxed on okay, then ran a really nice second in Launceston a fortnight ago, where he sprinted home well when getting into the clear late. He is back into the standing start here, which he is a bit hit and miss however, some of his biggest successes have come in stand starts in the St Marys Cup and Devonport discretionary. If I can get him away safely and into the first four in the run, I think he is a great hope.
Value runner
Hobart – Race 3 – 5. Petrea Bromac
Two very good seconds at her past two outings bring this mare right into contention. The draw is a little tricky as she does appear more suited to being saved for one run at her rivals, however, I will just have to play it by ear early on.
Roughie
Launceston Race 3 – 9. Letsplayuni
I’m really happy to be back behind this gelding on Sunday night. He has been a model of consistency and I like his runs in Launceston. He ran two handy thirds at his last two outings here and I think the bigger track really suits him. I’d put a line through his run last week when he got shuffled back to last and just couldn’t get into the race. This is a strong enough field, but if the emergency does not gain a run, then he draws behind likely leader Strezlecki Watusi. With a soft run on the pegs, he will only need a little bit of luck to finish off very strongly at good odds.
