Lockdown Orders - Tamworth Local Government Areas.

Following the lockdown orders imposed by the NSW Government in relation to the Tamworth Local Government Area (LGA) that will commence from 5pm today until 12.01am on Tuesday 17 August 2021 , HRNSW advises the following:

Licensed participants residing in the Tamworth LGA are now subject to the same stay at home rules and restrictions previously imposed on Greater Sydney and the Central Coast. Those licensed participants MUST remain within the lockdown zone unless NSW Government exemptions apply.

Licensed participants who enter the lockdown zone at any time are reminded that they MUST comply with NSW Government Health Orders once they leave the lockdown zone.

Trainers located within the lockdown zone will be unable to nominate horses for any race meetings or trials outside of the Tamworth LGA until the NSW Government lockdown restrictions are removed.

For race meetings and trials conducted at the Tamworth Paceway the following will apply until further notice:

  • Only licensed Trainers, Drivers and Stablehands for horses engaged can attend race meetings and trials; Members of the public are unable to attend pursuant to the NSW Government lockdown restrictions.
  • Licensed Trainers residing in the Tamworth LGA MUST only use a Driver and/or Stablehand from the Tamworth LGA.
  • Licensed Trainers residing outside the Tamworth LGA MUST only use a Driver and/or Stablehand from outside the Tamworth LGA.

Any person wishing to make enquiries should contact HRNSW Stewards on 9722 6655.

Participants are reminded of Australian Harness Racing Rule 238:

AHRR 238 – A person shall not fail to comply with any order, direction or requirement of the Controlling Body or the Stewards relating to harness racing or the harness racing industry.

HRNSW management reminds all industry participants of the available industry support program.
