Skyvalley’s outstanding son Tornado Valley edged within $5000 of reaching the magical million mark with an end-to-end win in a Group 3 free-for-all at Melton and a close second in free-for-all company at Geelong.

The gelding’s Melton success in a brilliant 1:55.4 was the 38th of his career and his 22nd at the Melbourne headquarters’ track – a record for one his gait.

He will step out in Saturday night's DNR Logistics Vulcan Trotters Free For All at Tabcorp Park Melton, where a victory would send him over the elite seven-figure mark.
