Ashleigh Delosa and Will Rixon did not have things go their way on Sunday afternoon in Hobart when they represented New South Wales in the Australian Drivers Championship.

Following the running of the six-race series, Delosa finished in sixth position while Rixon was placed eighth behind the winner, champion Victorian reinsman James Herbertson. The pair acquitted themselves well, both expressing their gratitude for being chosen to represent their state and describing their involvement as a surreal experience to drive against the best that our nation has to offer.

With just a week remaining in 2025, Delosa well and truly has the state’s female Drivers Premiership sewn up, capturing her second title in successive years.

The hard working 27-year-old comfortably surpassed her 2024 tally by notching up 113 winners compared to her tally of 88 last season.

Rixon has cemented himself amongst the top echelon in the state’s driving ranks as he continues to rack up an imposing record.

With 194 victories, Will is likely to finish second on the Drivers Premiership table behind Cam Hart, and although he only has a week to achieve it, would love nothing more than to bring up a double century.

“It has again been a really good season for me, capped off by representing New South Waleslast Sunday in the Australian Drivers Championship,” said Will.

“Unfortunately, the cards did not fall my way throughout the series, but it was wonderful experience and one that I am very grateful to have been afforded.

“Hopefully, I can knuckle down over the next week and land the six winners needed to reach that elusive 200-win milestone for the season, which would be something special.

“It is obvious that I cannot catch Cam, but if I could reach the double ton, it would be pretty cool.

“I have to say that it is quite humbling to have been given such great support from owners and trainers throughout my career, without that I would have never achieved what I have.”

Rixon will be chasing more winners at Penrith tonight, although he has just three drives, his best appearing to be Lets Turn It On in race five for Menangle Park trainer David Thorn.

The entire is dropping back from racing in metropolitan company at Tabcorp Park Menangleat his previous three starts where he was placed twice.
