New South Wales current leading junior driver Jye Coney is making a move to Sydney in pursuit of further developing his career in the metropolitan area after completing a successful 18-month stint under the guidance of Nathan Turnbull in Bathurst.

Currently sitting fourth on the State Drivers Premiership and leading the Concession Drivers Premiership with 150 wins, Coney is three wins ahead of his good mate Jett Turnbull and islinking up with the inform Chris Judd stable who train out of the state-of-the-art Barn at Tabcorp Park Menangle, the 18-year-old excited over the change in scenery.

“I cannot thank Nathan, Carly and the whole Turnbull family enough for the opportunitiesand experience they afforded me at The Lagoon,” said Coney.

“The situation enabled me to progress my driving career and set me on the path of fulfillingmy dream of making a success of being a full-time reinsman, and I have learned so much during my time in Bathurst.

“But I just felt that it was time for a change and took the chance to move down and give it a go in the city, linking up with Chris.

“His stable is absolutely firing at the moment, and he has some very nice horses in his care.

“I have only been there since Monday and everyone around the place have been very welcoming.

“My purpose for coming down here is to challenge myself as a driver, and there has been no promises made to me on what drives I will gain, I am just keen to put my head down and make the most of whatever comes my way, a bit like when I first went to Bathurst.”

A big loss to the driving ranks throughout the western area of the state on a regular basis, Coney said he is hoping to make the trip up to Bathurst on most Wednesday nights while ever he is able to pick up drives.
